Out with the old, in with the new (well, new to us)

Here is our old faithful servant. She's on the block now, we are hoping for a good and gentle new owner.

The car is a 1999 Cadillac Deville we bought from a LOL (little old lady). We have had her since summer, 2002, she had only 16K miles then. Now, four and a half years later she has 162K. We put on a lot of miles pretty fast for retired people!

Going, going, ... (not gone yet!)

Here is our "new to us" car, a 2006 Cadillac DTS, also from a LOL. She put 17K miles on this one. We are wondering, how long will it take us to get this one up to 162K.

Mrs. Jim is the 'principle driver.' She will take it whenever she goes for her errands and fun. It will double as our traveling and 'Sunday go to church' car, we trade off doing the driving for this and other times when we are both in the car.

Now, Adi has been looking for her spot to ride. Guess what? Mrs. Jim or I do the riding here.

She makes out like a bandit sometimes, but THIS is in my Mustang where she gets the front seat unless Mrs. Jim is there too. [large picture] [super size]

Adi's place will be in the back seat. We will get or make her a fitted blanket to put on the seat.

Too, we want window pads as she loves to stand with her front legs on the window sill, riding along with her head out the window. Her ears flap real good in the breeze. She puts herself back in when we get to about 45 mph.

We don't have a timeline for this, but for sure it will be by July this year. Blogstock '08 (link) needs Adi, she is the most popular subject on my blog. The kids are a little jealous!

  1. Hi Jim ~~ Great looking cars, both of them. But I guess the newer one has
more features. Thanks for your comments. Glad you liked the Ice ream story and the Irish joke (145 miles)
Take care and enjoy the new car.
    Regards, Merle.

  3. Yeah, sure it's pretty, but more importantly - can it pull a loaded horse trailor?

And what did dogs do for fun before there were car windows to hang their heads out of?

  4. Congratulations. Adi and Willie have more in common than mere beagledom, I see.

  5. That looks a nice car Jim, I guess you need a good car when you run up that many miles. Bob.

  6. Oh, I like your new (to you) car Jim! You know how to ride in comfort!

Pup loves to have the window in the car down so he can lean up there and let the air hit him in the face too!
