Thirty-five years earlier here -- The Jims were hitched February 24, 1973 -- "what God has joined together, let man not separate"

The wedding party, from left to right:
Son, Mike;
Daughter, Susie;
Mrs. Jim's sister, Velma;
Flower girl, Mrs. Jim's niece, Tammy;
Mrs. Jim;

Jim;
Ring bearer, Mrs. Jim's nephew, Phil;
Best man, Mike;
Son, Tim;
Mrs. Jim's brother, Danny; and
Son Mitch

We had breakfast the next morning in San Antonio. At this Jack-in-the-Box which was across the street from our hotel on the river. It did not have a drive-though. And the hotel was on the river walk, our car was in the hotel garage.

Last night the Jim Bunch ate again. Our friend took us to eat for our anniversary. Before we went to the club to eat, she gave us this nice bouquet of roses.

Would you believe I was the only one at the table who didn't speak French? Since Mrs. Jim isn't terribly proficient they mostly spoke English for both our benefits.

Note:
"Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,'

and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'?

So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."

  1. Just look at you and Mrs. Jim!!
    Very nice.
    That looks like a fancy Jack in the Box.
    We don't have those in AR. I like the Fajita Pitas, and so I have them when I am in CA. I also have an In-N-Out burger when I'm in CA. Those are must haves when it comes to fast food, which I rarely eat.

    Lovely flowers too!
    You've got nice, Frenchy friends.
    I hope you enjoyed your dinner.

    Happy Anniversary, you Love Birds you!!!

  2. Congradulations on your 35th wedding anniversary. TF and I will be married 37 years in July. We went to Galveston for our Homeymoon and stayed at the Galvez Hotel. We slept so late the next day that when we went down for breakfast, the waiters said, sorry we are serving lunch....He asked if we were newlyweds and I think I blushed....TF just laughed.

    The riverwalk is really a beautiful place to stay when you are in San Antonio and the Alamo isn't far away.

    Again, Congradulations!

  3. Dear Jim,
    congratulations 35 years in wedlock is quite an achievement these says.
    You were such a beautiful couple.
    I'm sure Mrs. Jim still fit into her wedding dress. Not that certain about her hubby though.
    (I'm throwing stones sitting in a glass house. I gained 20 kilos when I quit smoking, they' re still glued to my cranky skeleton).
    Hope you live to celebrate another 35 anniversary, that is by us called an iron wedding.
    From Felisol

    I'm your daughter Susie, but you're blog won't let me choose my name for my identity.

  5. Jamie, Mrs. Jim said I was with four and a half Frenchmen. She was the half because she things her French isn't all that good.

    Lucy, that Galvez is a nice place! We may have missed breakfast also, we didn't even get to San Antonio until almost midnight.

    Felisol, I gained when I quit smoking too. But I wouldn't recommend smoking for a weight loss program.
    I think the 35th is CORAL (from under the sea). I got her some coral earrings from Italy a couple of years ago.

    Susie, I will have to pick your brain to see what all your remember about that.

    Thank you all for the congrats. Mike (best man), Susie, and Mike (son) have sent e-mails since this morning also.
    Mike (best man) remembers when my Dad got lost and rescuing both me and Dad to get to the wedding.

    Thanks for your comments, I think that 3rd lady must not have been too great looking. The picture was painted by mouth by an Australian lady. So talented with so much difficulty. Take care, Best Wishes, Merle.
