Some of these trailers cost more than our house! Maybe yours too?

  1. I was going to say that they do cost a pretty penny....My two sisters and my brother and I will be visiting one such park this summer down in Galveston or we might be going to Destin Florida, is gas prices don't skyrocket. Dad left us his travel trailor when he died and we kept it so that we could take a family vacation. We have lots of memories in that trailor.

  2. Hi Jim, the trailer park looks like it might be a nice place to stay. I wonder if people live there all the time or is it more for holidays/vacation? Bob.

  4. No disrespect intended. The term trailer trash did not originate with me. There even is a song,
    Trailer Trash:

I had a very good friend in college. Then we were stationed together at Fort Bliss. He and family lived in a trailer park there on base. It was a nice place.

The one here is a recreational vehicle (RV) park for vacationers. Nothing trashy over there!

    Artist: Modest Mouse
    Song: Trailer Trash

Eating snow flakes with plastic forks
And a paper plate of course, you think of everything
Short love with a long divorce
And a couple of kids of course
    They don't mean anything
Live in trailers with no class
goddamn I hope I can pass high school means nothing
    Taking heartache with hard work
Goddamn I am such a jerk, I can't do anything
And I shout that you're all fakes
And you should have seen the look on your face
And I guess that's what it takes
    When comparing your bellyaches
And it's been a long time
Which agrees with this watch of mine
And I guess that I miss you, and I'm sorry
    if I dissed you
    ..

    What a song!

  5. Jim - Thanks for the link to The Mercer Arboretum & Botanic Gardens. It looks like a cool place! If we ever get to Houston again, we'll be sure and check it out. The photos look really nice. My two favorite Botanical gardens are the Chicago and Denver gardens. Both are totally World Class. That last shot here of the Motor Coach looks just like our old friend's in Orange County. Only they have Jeep Grand Cherokee instead of the Wrangler. I think he said it was only about a $250K item, but the good news is that it is a diesel and it gets a whopping 6 miles to the gallon on the road! But seriously, it is a very nice rig! ~ jb///

  6. This one is a diesel and gets between 5 and 6 miles/gallon.

The sad thing is that diesel is over $4.00 a gallon now, regular gas is around 3.25 (I paid 3.19 this morning).

  7. My husband would love to have one of those in the 3rd picture that is hooked up to that Jeep. So would I. We could do the NASCAR circuit quite nicely...except for the price of gas these days. There's always something to break the camel's back, isn't there?

  8. Jim, I am sad to say that I chickened out on the test. I studied on the QRZ website but couldn't get a passing grade. I decided that I didn't want to be the only one that failed the test so I decided not to take it. What I plan to do is study more and take the test on May 24th. at the end of our next Tech class. This old brain is having a hard time memorizing some of the formulas and electrical componants. I plan to study every day for the next month and pass the test with flying colors.

Charles did surprise me by saying that he knew you. I gave him a test of my own to see if he was telling the truth. I asked him about ADI and he answered corectly and he knew that you were getting ready to go to Scotland. BTW: He passed his General test. In fact everyone that took the test passed. I didn't want to be the only one that failed so I will study harder and pass next month. I will NOT let this beat me. I WILL pass. Thanks for all the good vibes from your direction. Talk to ya later.

  13. We LOVE trailers, here in AR. Single wide mobile homes are the preference and most have no screens on the windows, or glass for that matter. During the winter, we just cover the windows with duct tape.
We also like parking our cars on the front lawn or weeds, and we like decorating our yards with old appliances. Toilets make great planters too.

  14. I had an old four legged bath tube with one leg broken. I wanted to make a water garden for the front yard. Mrs. Jim said "no."
Rachel, most of those trailers cost more than most of our houses. This fellow bought that trailer so he would have a place to stay when he went Jeeping.
It has a very wide screen TV and a pop-out on each side.
