Sign said, "Do this, don't do that ..."

.
Last Wednesday we had a nice visit with our friends, Graham and Carroll, who live in Greens Norton, Towcester, which is about 75 miles northwest of London. We met them last summer on our Baltic cruise and have been corresponding since.

We had lunch with them at the Whittlebury Golf Club (link) out of Whittlebury, Towcester, Northamptonshire. Graham plays golf there quite often. After lunch we visited the
Stowe House and Gardens which houses the Stowe School. These pictures were taken in the garden.

Later in the evening we had a very nice fish and chips meal before we left to go back to London. We went by train, it was a thirty minute train ride. From the station to Karen and Billy's flat was another half hour of riding and waiting the London Tube System. I wish the Houston area could have such a nice public transit system.

Likely I will post more later about our visit as I took a lot of pictures and this is a very pretty area

"And the sign said long haired freaky people need not apply
So I tucked my hair up under my hat and I went in to ask him why
He said you look like a fine upstanding young man, I think you'll do
So I took off my hat I said imagine that, huh, me working for you
woah!

"Sign Sign everywhere a sign
Blocking out the scenery breaking my mind
Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign

"And the sign said anybody caught trespassing would be shot on sight
So I jumped on the fence and yelled at the house, Hey! what gives you the right
To put up a fence to keep me out or to keep mother nature in
If God was here, he'd tell you to your face, man you're some kinda sinner

  1. That's funny. I can imagine why golf courses would be dangerous.

  2. Golf courses aren't dangerous. Golfers are!

Love that song. I'm not terribly fond of signs though -- unless they are helping me find my way rather than telling me what I may not do.
