Coming back from Iowa the first week of June our car thermometer registered 100°F as soon as we hit Texas.
It has stayed right around, 100's and high 90's ever since. Highs were running in the 70's in the Midwest.
Besides that we are in the middle of a bad drought. Crops have died, lakes are empty, our forests are burning, and we have a state-wide burn ban. The latter means there were very few 4th of July fireworks. Our usually nice fireworks display got cancelled for this year.

Quite happy to swap with you and send some of our cold, rainy weather in exchange for some heat.
ReplyDeleteBummer on the hot weather and no fireworks :( (Found your blog from Six Word Saturday)
ReplyDeleteStay cool!
ReplyDeleteIt's sensible not have fireworks, but a shame.
ReplyDeleteI wish you lots and lots of rain (you don't often get the chance to mean that in a nice way).
ReplyDeleteHot and dry is no fun! We're getting some much-needed rain today, but it's supposed to be back in the high 90's next week...
ReplyDeleteWe've been "smokey" all week from area wildfires.
been overly warm here in illinois as well come see me at http://shopannies.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteWe live in Kansas and it is in the 100's. Yesterday 108. 100's in the forecast for several days ahead. Yikes! I think I will be staying inside in the AC.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the drought and that there was a fireworks ban in your area. But it makes sense...so many fires from them.
I hope rain will come to us and to you all there in Texas too!
Hi Jim ~~ I am sorry you are having such high temperatures and drought.
ReplyDeleteWe are very familiar with that.
I am glad of no more physio visits.
I also remember when 40 was old and like you, don't remember much about being 40. Glad you enjoyed the jokes.
Take care - only a week until your knee surgery. How the time gets away.
I hope all goes well for you my friend. Regards, Merle.
Hot here as well - I think we have a 100* day in our near future.
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing 6WS!
I can't stand weather that hot! I hope it cools down by you soon :)
