— Six Word Saturday — KP, Party Crackers and Fish Sticks

birthday song next

It was Mrs. Jim's birthday dinner party.  Her birthday is January 1st but KP and her parents will be back in London by then.  We have had a lovely Christmas with them.

Neither KP nor I have ever done the party crackers for celebrations.  Made of paper, you pull both ends and it breaks open with a loud pop.  Some people call them 'poppers' I think.

Inside to fall out is a hat, a toy, and a fortune.  Her toy was a wire puzzle.  Mine was a small note pad.

After we ate we had a birthday cake with candles for Mrs. Jim to blow out.  KP helped her with the blowing and they did fine.

  5. You don't have crackers? I would be lynched if we didn't have crackers at Christmas and New Year! (I tell a lie! My son groans when I insist on reading out the jokes, but I think he likes them secretly :) )
Happy birthday to the missus. You'll be sad to see them go but it'll be no time before you're together again. Very best wishes for 2014, Jim.

  8. Happy birthday Mrs Jim!
It looks like a fun Christmas. I assumed everywhere had crackers at Christmas - they are such a big tradition here. The jokes in them are usually accompanied by a groan around the table because we have heard them before, but this year there were actually some new ones! My cracker 'gift' this year was a wire puzzle!
