That's two giant steps for mankind
two more Six's
Our destination, Wolfies on the lake
The pictured outing was a couple of weeks ago, not a Valentines thing. Note how much our lake had gone down. We had quite a bit of rain the last two weeks, just in time for better boating and fishing.
Last night we had a Valentine Banquet at our church. At least 400 were in attendance. There were a lot of visitors because our entertainer was Mark Lowery. He wrote the "Mary do you know" song** and last night he sang it for us (link). He formerly sang with the Bill Gaither group.

Mrs. Jim is walking on her boot now. With our without crutches. Generally a cane if no crutches.
We have hopes that she will shed the boot February 28. It has been a long ordeal. I don't know when she can play golf again, soon again we hope.
(I played golf this Thursday with a bunch of the guys from her Sunday school class. We expect to have at least two nice weeks for golf still now. This I believe will be our Texas Spring. Summer will start after that, temps are in forecast to be in the 80's already now.)
I think Mrs. Jim will be able at least to putt in March, we will see.

**Mary did you know (words by Mark Lowery)
"Mary did you know that your baby boy would some day walk on water?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you've delivered, will soon deliver you.
Mary did you know that your baby boy would give sight to a blind man?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would calm a storm with his hand?
Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
And when your kiss your little baby, you have kissed the face of God.
Oh Mary did you know
The blind will see, the deaf will hear, the dead will live again.
The lame will leap, the dumb will speak, the praises of the lamb
Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would one day rule the nations?
Did you know that your baby boy is heaven's perfect Lamb?
This sleeping child you're holding is the great I am."

My fingers are crossed for Mrs Jim and the boot coming off on Feb 28 and that she can get back to golf soon.
ReplyDeleteNice words to "Mary" :)
ReplyDeleteA boat trip would suit me fine, Jim. There are a lot of sad people down south who would be glad of a rowing boat right now.
Oh I like the idea of no winter and climbing out of a boat, that has been on uniced, as in thawed and delightfully wet water! Hooray! I'm sending good wishes for Mrs. Jim too, and that soon she'll be back to happy trails again, bootless!
ReplyDeleteLove the boating pictures! Our boats are still in dry dock and covered in snow. Lake Ontario is 88 % frozen.
ReplyDeleteAt present, they're playing "snow golf" on the local lakes. Here's hoping Mrs. Jim is doing a two-footed jig soon.
ReplyDeleteYou were on a boat and you know how I feel about boats. They are awesome and I'm on our boat right now enjoying the weekend at one of my favorite yacht clubs.
ReplyDeleteI too hope the boot goes at the end of this month and that golf is in the near future.
Have a fabulous weekend. :)
Best wishes for Mrs Jim to be doing everything she wants to do soon! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to hear Mark Lowery! I hope Mrs. Jim's healing continues to go well.
ReplyDeleteI am glad Mrs. Jim is on the mend! I hope she get to golf before summer starts. I love Mark, he is as funny as he is talented! I love that song too! Wishing you a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteTake care, Mrs Jim.
