Since I had started on this last Thursday (we left on Friday and were still on the road back Sunday evening) I will go ahead and post. Just can't sign in for Teresa.
I will post a few birthday pictures next week. Saturday night we attended Sandy Patty's final U.S. tour at Baton Rouge. It was good, uplifting, and LOUD!
Friday's Hunt for the week of October 28th: (1) Starts with "R"; (2) Week's Favorite; and (3) Black and/or Orange.
(1) Starts with "R": "Red" starts with "R".
First is KP's Banjo. This was a school project for her to make after the class had studied musical instruments and HOW the sound is made. KP opted for a stringed instrument, the Banjo.
One part was to make it, better if it made sound. She was also supposed to tell directions for making an instrument like she had made. Hers is made from a Graham Cracker Box, a dah tah dah tube and four rubber bands. Her artistic talent went into the decorations. (Directions Galore are to be found on-line.)
Her grade showed the work and preparation was paying off.
A very nice grade!! A+++

The second is a couple of Christmas Tree Decorations we found at the World Market store near us. Red Cardinals and a Toy Red Vacation Camper.(2) Week's Favorite (not): Thursday before we left for Baton Rouge I went for a scheduled CT Scan with and without dye. I was to come to Houston Memorial Hospital, Katy Hospital, an hour before my appointment.
This turned out to fill out papers and to drink this solution a half hour before my appointment. It looked like water but had electrolytes and other stuff.
I was asked whether I wanted 'peach tea' or 'lemonade'. I opted for lemonade. That made drinking it easier.
The marking on the bottom? I was to save that part until I had an IV Port placed in my arm.
I should get results tomorrow from the hospital (only 20 minutes away). Then I will call my GP doctor and after that another specialist who is looking for me to come in for a visit and a procedure.
(3) Black and/or Orange: This was a yard decoration on KP's street. We see lots of Orange and matching colors when we walk her to or from school. Come November 1st, they will all be gone.

The Fine Print: (the signing in part is what I missed. You can click on the list to visit those who did get finished before the teacher's deadline (late papers not accepted).

Have a fabulous day. ☺
It sounds like you had a happy time celebrating your birthday! Every year we have another one... and that's always a good thing! :-) KP did a wonderful job on her banjo. I love the yard full of orange smiles at the end! Prayers that your doctor visits and tests will have good results, and nothing that can't be easily addressed!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to you Dr Jim! Have a grand time! Great collection of goodness here and in beautiful colors too! The pumpkins give a wonderful feeling!

A happy belated birthday to you and I hope you have many more of them I loved all your red things in the post especially that little caravan. The shot with the pumpkins in it is my favorite today
ReplyDeleteHappy belayed birthday to you ! No, we don't really celebrate Halloween, it starts slowly to move in, though. Your pumpkins are real cute ! I refuse to think about Christmas yet, on top we have nearly summer weather here and it's end October !
ReplyDeleteBelated happy birthday Jim! I just love the little cardinal decorations - they are really cute. The banjo is a very creative project - well done for KP! I do hope all the test results will be normal, or at least easy to address. To answer your question on my blog, the purple finch does stay all winter. Many of our birds do not, but enough do stick around that I need to fill the feeders just as often!
ReplyDeleteHappy 49 birthday Jim! It's hard to blog while on the road, always try to find the closest McDonald. On my list of things to do is make a cigar-box guitar. I just finished a black and red teardrop trailer. Hope to see you again on Friday.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Hope it was a great one! Love the adorable banjo. Hope you get get news from the tests. Thanks so much for participating. Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeletehappy birthday Jim ,may you see many more
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Jim!!! Hope the results of the CT scan is all good news. KP's banjo is quite impressive. A couple of years ago, I saw a homemade banjo at the county fair. Someone had entered it in the crafts category I think. I wondered how it was made. Now, I'm going to finally go Google it.
