(1) The letter "B" (my choice of
letters): Since this is last week and
there are 53 Fridays in the year 2016, Teresa is asking us to use the letter of
our choice I chose "B".
(a) "B" is for
"Bogged". Being
"Properly Bogged" is getting "stuck" (American term) in the
mud. When one is Properly Bogged the
vehicle is stuck so badly that it has to be towed out.
We had several instances of being properly bogged Wednesday. Above is a picture of this unfortunate person getting stuck while driving in the pasture consisting of many bogs. He/she is being pulled out by our tour leader.
Here, above at the left, is another picture showing the 'fun' driving conditions.

(b) "B" is also for "Bird". Margaret, if you (or another person who cares to tell of it, or guess, are reading and posting comments this week, you might tell us the name of this pretty bird that we found. Note the grazing sheep in the left side of the picture.

The Fine Print:
- Teresa of Eden Hills, (click) is running this meme, Friday's Hunt. Her rules are: "Welcome to linkup for Friday’s Hunt. It’s very simple. Anyone can participate. The link opens at 7pm Friday Central time and will close Sunday at 7pm."
I may not be able to post here every week and doubt I will be returning comments for some time. After being locked in someone's trunk and being hindered in some other ways, I may be released by now, perhaps FREE!!! I would, however, love for you to read my blogs and leave your nice comments.

Not getting bogged down is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and a very Happy New Year. ☺
Whoa, getting bogged does not sound like fun to me, but I know quite a few family members who would love to go what we refer to as "muddin". Locked in a trunk? Say what???
ReplyDeleteJim, you give off-roading a whole new dimension. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteHi Jim, This "bird" waves Bon and Happy New Year! from east of Boise (and Austrailia) south of Burlington, and north of Brazil. Auk have no idea of which bird that is? I dodo(n't) know. After discovering a bug in our home, I learned that my better half has been moonligh ting as a burglar. Since you caught him in thae act, he loked you in his dad's Buick. I took a brick and bashed that trunk open. You're free as a bird now. Continue roving around the land! Enjoyed your piece. Glad you have photos to document your bizarre journeys!
ReplyDeleteHi Jim, that is an Upland Goose, which is indigenous to South America. They are also seen on the Falkland Islands. At first, I was befuddled because I thought you were in Texas, but seeing the "2016 South America" tag at the bottom of your post leads me to believe you are actually on vacation in South America, thus explaining the Upland Goose sighting! I hope you are having a great time. Brave of you to stand so close to that muddy vehicle in your light-coloured jacket! Wishing you the best for 2017!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Jim! I saw that Claire id'd the bird. It reminded me of nenes in Hawaii. Maybe they're related. I have been properly bogged a few times in my life, with and without a vehicle. At 17, a friend and I got ourselves stuck in a muddy orchard. We thought we could cross it to a friend's house. We needed help, because our car was stuck in the mud. lol
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of fun! I will admit, I prefer not to get bogged when I'm out driving in the pasture though. Thanks so much for joining in Friday's Hunt. Happy 2017!
ReplyDeleteNow that's a mess! LOL We used to go to mud bog races years ago. Just to watch!
