the Letter "K". Prompts are:
(A) Starts with "K"; (B) A Favorite; (C) Kopy Kat or Kind; and (D) Reflection(s).
(A) Starts with "K": King starts with "K". The following is about a King Size plant we had in a flowerbed. I had it posted in my "Jim's little Christmas Tree place" blog.
.
This guy was growing in our flower bed out front of the house, by the street. I left it there for a while because I thought maybe it was a melon. Cantaloupe or watermelon is great homegrown.
It probably wasn't going to have any type melons, or even a pumpkin. So today I pulled it for the garbage guys to haul away.
It did have some little blue flowers but the vine was taking over the flower bed. It had to go, sorry..

I have no idea what this plant is. Maybe you can identify them from these pictures. I sure would like to know what it was that I pulled up.
.
I might have learned its identity in my high school Ag class, if I did, I have forgotten it now. Like I have never heard of this plant or seen one before.
(B) A Favorite: I like, almost with an infinity, old buildings and places. This one, Kings Lounge, aka Jazz Café, I found beside the LSU Hospital's outpatient building in Shreveport, Louisiana.
I had thought that after our visit we could eat seafood there. Think again. They were in the middle of an extensive remodeling project.
(C) Kopy Kat or Kind:
We did get to have Fried Catfish only it was Yesterday and not Wednesday at the King Lounge a.k.a. Jazz Cafe. Instead we ate locally here in Farmerville, Louisiana. I am sure this was better Fish, FF's, Slaw, and Hushpuppies anyway.
(D) Reflection(s): King's Lounge again, this picture shows the reflections in their driveway.

Oh my that catfish lunch looks so good. Now I'm hungry.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and weekend, Jim. My best to Mrs. Jim. 😎
Great post.
ReplyDeleteThat fish makes me hungry for seafood. With hushpuppies, of course.
ReplyDelete...Jim. your 'K'ing size plant was on a mission. a mission to take over your yard! I always enjoyed 'Ka't Fish, FF's, Slaw, and Hushpuppies when I went to college at the University of Georgia. Take good care and stop back again.
ReplyDeleteNope I cannot ID the plant but a good idea to get rid of it as it would have taken over your garden. The fish looks good, I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteThat's a wild looking plant! The fish looks yummy, I haven't had catfish in a long time! Have a good week, Jim.
ReplyDeleteDawn
Nice post! I feel like I've seen the King's Lounge before. Maybe I passed by it when I went to Shreveport about 11 yrs ago.
ReplyDeleteThat is a massive plant - yet the delicate lavender flowers allow us a study in contrasts. The catfish looks wonderful, and I like the Jazz Cafe - not fancy but looks as if it makes great food!
