The forty-first issue of Weekend Roundup for this year, 2020... (THE FIFTEENTH LETTER FOR THIS SERIES) - the Letter "O" Prompts are:
(A) Starts with the Letter "O";
(B) "Orange" (Tom's Choice);
(C) A Favorite; and
(D) Reflections.
_ _ _ _
(A) Starts with the Letter "O": "Old" starts with the letter "O". I am Old but this Model A Ford pickup is older.
This is a 1928, 29, 30, or 31 Model A Ford Pickup. I don't know who owns it but it was parked in the parking lot of First Baptist Church, Conroe, Texas. It looks almost all original. I have never owned a Model A and haven't driven one. My parents had a 1929 Coupe when I was born. I would like to have a Model A Ford Pickup but that isn't practical for us anymore.
(B) "Orange" (Tom's Choice): This picture according to Oceania Cruises is supposed to be of Paris, France, but I can't place where. Here though, my main concern is the Orange Citroen car. Mrs. Jim would love to have a nice clean restored model like this. I have a 1:18 scale model blue toy car, that is enough for me (link).
(C) A Favorite: Our great niece and her new husband posing with their parents, her dad is our nephew. Their wedding was last Saturday.
(D) Reflections: A TV capture from our Houston Channel 11 at the beginning of the weather report.

Bonus Questions:
(1) Have you ever had or driven an old car or driven one? A Ford product if you have a choice. Tell us little about your experience. For a few weeks my dad bought me for my junior year school car a pristine 1937 Ford Tudor owned by a LOL (Little Old Lady). It reeked of her perfume but otherwise it was a really nice car.
But Dad traded it in for a new Ford F1 Pickup because he thought the mechanical brakes might not stop fast enough with a novice driver behind the wheel. I had no say-so because it was titled in his name, 21 was the legal age to own property back in those days. Besides I think he really wanted a pickup for the farm.
(2) What is your favorite word beginning with the letter "O"? Today I will choose the word "One" because it is a short word. I like the song, "One is the Loneliest Number" and since starting tis blog post that song has been an ear worm for me.

Lovely wedding. Love her gown.
ReplyDeleteI've never had a really old car. They were older in my youth and we tend to buy new anymore.
My favorite "O" word. Ornery comes to mind. I love being ornery in a good way now and then. It's fun.
Have a fabulous day and weekend, Jim. 😎
The Model A Ford pickup is a 1930-31 model, and it looks to be in great shape except for the paint. The Citroen is a 2CV, barely a car at all with 16 hp and a top speed of maybe 40 mph if one is patient. A better Citroen would be a Traction Avanti or a DS. Love your reflections photo.
ReplyDeleteNice "O" photos! The wedding picture is my favorite this week, too. The brides gown is beautiful! I like that song, but "Jeremiah was a Bullfrog" was my favorite song, by Three Dog Night. Have a nice weekend, Jim.

Beautiful bride and image but my favourite is the reflection shot this week and excellent considering you took it off a TV Jim. Never had a really old car although my own car at present is going that way. 17 years old and going well. Stay safe and have a lovely weekend
ReplyDeleteFunny, my first thought about the wedding was yikes no social distancing and I wonder how many people attended? We just went into a modified lockdown which will only allow 10 people to gather indoors and 25 outside for at least the next month.
ReplyDeleteNever drove any car!
