Adi has a new friend (?) Will adoption follow?

[large picture] [super sized]

This cute little poodle is named Katrine. She belongs to a friend of ours.

Katrine meets Adi for the first time. Adi appears to not be very interested in making a new friend.

We believe that this poodle may be needing a new home. At the present time she is staying with us although she belongs to our friend. Circumstances may be developing that lead to her being available for adoption.

(Are you God's child? Do you know he will adopt you as his child?) **

It seems that both dogs are keeping their distance. About five and half feet here to be more specific.

One thing of concern is that Katrine insists on barking at Adi. Mostly at a distance.

Here is how their first meeting went:

Adi will have to get to appreciate Katrine if they ever are to live together as sisters should.

Thank goodness God will adopt any of who ask.

Romans 8:22-24 (NIV link):
22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has?

Jesus the Way to the Father (John 14:5-14) (NIV link)
5 Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?"
6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him."

8 Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us."

9 Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? 10 Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. 11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. 12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

  1. Oh to be sure they will keep a distance for now. Dogs are very territorial too. Hope you can adopt her if needs be - they look cute together.

  2. Dear Jim,
I am not an expert in dog-body-language, but it seemed to me that Adi did not feel safe and comfortable with little Miss Barker.
    (Head low, tale uneasy.)
She's old and has been ill, perhaps she's not strong enough to stand up for her dog territory.
I wish all of you the very best on this shining Lord's day. (First day this year I've had to seek refuge under the big Swedeappletree.)

  3. Willie met a white poodle yesterday, too. It must be an outbreak.

  4. I think Katrine (who is sooo cute!!) is a little afraid of Adi and is using barking to try and sound brave. Adi seems bored with her and could care less!!

  5. Jim, Katrine sounds like a "yapper". Adi did her best to be nice and not tell the little missy off.....lol Good Luck!

  6. Hi Jim ~~ Cute little dog, but the barking puts one off. Adi doesn't seem too concerned. If needs be, they will probably tolerate each other.
Thanks for your ccomments, and I agree Patty shares a lot of articles with me which is generous of her.
I hope Katrine has stopped licking your feet, though it would save you washing them - maybe? Take care, and
enjoy the dogs antics. Regards, Merle.

  9. I have a hunch that Katrine may end up being part of the family around there.
Adi will have to share the glory and the attention.

  10. Well, Katrine certainly is a vocal little thing, isn't she?

By coincidence, I have a red post on my blog as of yesterday. It involves a barn...
