I'm glad, I'm glad, I'm glad!
I'm glad that my back surgery is over. I came home yesterday after spending a night in the St. Luke's Woodlands (a Houston suburb) Hospital. My terrible pain is gone but there is still a pretty bad lingering backache.
The surgery went well. It was the repair of a thoracic vertebrae which had a fresh partial compression fracture. I was required to stay awake so no general anesthesia, only locals. This was so that every now and then I could wiggle my feet on command. I have a small band aid now covering my incision.

Oh yes, the last time I posted a Six Word Saturday I had the Pumpkin Kids contest. The Country Pumpkin Growers group won by a landslide. Still now though I have not written a Pumpkin, Texas post featuring the winner. I'll let you know on 6WS when it does happen.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
That is fantastic. I'm so glad for you and hope the backache is gone soon. I live with chronic backache which sometimes flares into excruciating, so I know exactly where you've been.
ReplyDeleteThis is great news, Jim. Back problems can be intractible. Many suffer for years. I'll keep a good thought for your continued recovery.
ReplyDeleteWow how wonderful. I wish you all speedy recovery. I had major back surgery on my lumber area in 2003, am very well and still fit! Happy 2012.
ReplyDeleteThat's great news! And covered only with a bandaid. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteHapy New Year!
Amazing what they can do these days - back surgery and a band-aid...amazing! Glad to hear it went well and you are feeling better! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI heard a line on a sitcom the other night. "Your back goes out more often than you do." Now that won't apply to you anymore. Great news Jim and I'm Glad for you too. Start swinging a golf club so you'll get ready quicker. (probably should talk to your Dr about that last one.)
ReplyDeleteGood to hear it all went well. As a sufferer myself I know how debilitating it can be. Here's to a pain-free 2012!
ReplyDeletesending you healing wishes for a pain free 2012!
