— My Alphabe-Thursday, "Z" Cars I Have Known — "Z" Two Questions

.
Posted in respect for Aphabe- Thursday's Letter "Z"

The Letter "Z" is the last letter of our English alphabet.  Strangely enough, the English do not use this letter very often.   I refer to you our English (American)  "Z".  (Google Search for "use of letter Z in british english" )

I would have picked "Z" for Zebra but I did not have a picture of one on file.  And I wasn't about to run down the 65 miles to the Houston Zoo for one.  I did try one toy store and found no toy Zebra there.

So I picked "Z" for "Z" Cars instead.  I just happened to have had a couple of blogs written about the two here.

First, above, is a BMW "Z4" Car.  The Z4 was introduced in 2002 and is still in production with an improved model. (Google Search for "BMW Z4") (Jim's 2008 blog featuring this car) BTW, this "Z" is owned by a lady friend of ours.  For this picture it is sitting in our church parking lot.

Second, to the left on my NAPA calendar, is a 1968 Chevrolet "Z"-28 Camero.  My son had a 1968 Camero painted blue and white like this in high school.  His was an "RS" Camero. (Jim's 2010 blog featuring this car)

Now for my Thursday Two Questions.

I really enjoyed your responses to my Yellow Car post of last week.  I did have a couple of Yellow Toy Cars that I did not post about.
My Two Questions for this week (you can answer just one if you wish):
..er

1. If your older relative willed you his one of his Z Cars like these above, would you want the newer BMW or the older Chevy, which would you want?  Why that one? I
It would be a toss-up for me.  I think neither car is very desirable for my wants.

2. Do you have or would you like to have a collector car?  What might it be?
I have a 1950 Ford Tudor and a 1974 Ford Mustang II Ghia. My 1998 Ford Mustang GT convertible has a few years to go before it will be a collector car.
Bonus Question: What is your favorite "Z" word?  Or "Z" Car?.

My Thursday Two Questions post is for Amanda.

  1. 1. I'd absolutely want the Chevy, it's a classic.
    2. I don't have one but if I did it would be a Corvette fastback.

  2. I'd want the Chevy as we had one when I was a child and it brings back memories. I can barely afford to take care of my one car so another one is out of the question. :-)

My favorite "Z" word, off the top of my head is zeal. The minister preached about it Sunday and it is still fresh in my mind. We need to be more zealous.

    Blessings! :-)

  4. Your post's title immediately reminded me of an old British cop series called "Z Cars"!

My car is 6 yrs old - feels like a collector car already!!

    Happy A-Thursday to you Jim!

  5. Z is for ZING! Went the strings of my heart! Old cars are a love of mine. That Camaro is quite beautiful. So is the BMW, but, that, alas illicits no fond memories of teen age life for me! As far as my dream car - oh, a 1955-1957 Chevy (especially a Nomad version) would be my idea of a heavenly ride!
    Brilliant Z post!!

  6. BMW! Zoom! My child will be very happy :)
    (Zoom begins with Z)

We don't have any collector car. It's too expensive to maintain one in Singapore.

Zeal. Zealous. You're right, Dr Jim. There are very few "Z" words.

  7. I know some girls really dig fast cars. I am the exception, naturally and am not so much into them. Oh yeah, we had two Toyota Supras ('85 & the '87 Turbo addition) and now I just look at ALL sport cars as something pretty. This drives my 18-year old son insane and my DH just laughs at me. Where was I? Oh yes, your questions. Being the good sport I try to be let me pretend for a tiny moment that I would die, if I didn't have a Z car. =D

Between the two Z-cars, I would certainly pick the Camero over the BMW hands down. Simply because I prefer the racy old-school look over the newly modern sleek versions, which don't seem to have the same appeal as the classic.

I think, if I were into collector cars then I would go for a Mustang from the 60s. You know those fast little beasties with the hood scoop which made them appear to be ferious on the road and I'm sure they were. Oh yes, it has to be red, too!

Great fun questions this week! My post is up, if you have time feel free to zip over to my place to read Zebras Aren't the Only Thing With Stripes

  8. I would choose the BMW Z4 if I get to choose one out of the two.
However my favourite car would be a volkswagon golf GTI

  11. if there is no other option but to choose one, i'd choose the BMW z4 even if it it's not the car that would suit the family's need. maintaining a car is difficult and one is enough for me. :)

i am not much about cars and definitely i do not know about what a collector car is but if there is an old Mini Cooper collector car, i'd choose that.

  12. 1. The BMW I suppose, although I'm a Mercedes kind of gal.

    2. No, I wouldn't want a collector car.

    3. Zestful is my 'Z' word.

    Have a terrific day. :)

  13. This is the first I have heard of Z-cars. I'm afraid my tastes tend toward more plebeian ones. Why drive a Mercedes or BMW when a Ford can get you there too? :)

  14. I wouldn't mind the newer Z. Especially right now because I lost my Benz. I haven't replaced it and I am still in mourning for it. Yes, I am not the typical - not so much in a hurry to run out and get something new.
I don't think I would like to have a collector's car. Anything collector means it will drive me nuts. I have a phobia of collecting. As a matter of fact, I would like to get rid of half the stuff in my house right now, Ive accumulated too much over the years and it is really annoying me. Smiles. Have a wonderful weekend. Thanks for playing along with us.

  15. If someone willed me a vehicle, and I get to choose, I think I'd choose the newer model.

And it would be nice to own a collector's vehicle. I could always pass it down in my family.

    Have a great weekend!

  16. I would like any new car! lol sandie

  17. Great post! I should have written about cars, because I used to own a Z3 Coupe and looooooved it! To answer your questions, not sure about the Z4, plus these days I kind of fancy a classic muscle car e.g. 60s Mustang, Challenger, Corvette :)

Saying 'hello' via Alphabe- Thursday - mine for letter 'Z' @ ImagesByCW is about Zug, Switzerland

  18. Zippety do dah!

My husband would love zis post!

I'm not much of a vehicle person. I'm all about the color.

If it's a cool orange or brown, I'm in!

    Thanks for the smile, Jim!

    Happy Post-Thanksgiving Monday!

    A+
