THE SIXTEENTH LETTER FOR THIS SERIES) - the Letter "P" Prompts are: (A) Starts with the Letter "P"; (B) "Purple" (Tom's Choice); (C) A Favorite; (D) Street/Reflections; and (E) A Lagniappe. _ _ _ _
We see here a Model A Ford Phaeton fiberglass replica. It might be the real thing but I don't know the owner to ask. There were a couple of older cars to come. Just to show you, there were a lot of golf carts. And of course we had pretty girls walking and riding. [-click pictures for larger size viewing-]
Kids, kids, and more kids. First you see a couple being pushed in their toy John Deere Gator by an older fellow, likely a brother. Several were little and were entirely pulled or pushed and guided by a parent. Last here was the only foot propelled scooter I saw.
(B) Purple (Tom's Choice): This is the first Louisiana Purple Iris bloom of the season. We had brought some bulbs with us from Bentwater when we moved to Katy and made this little bed for them.
Seems all the flowers are looking great to make up for the poor weathering of the other foliage, i.e. the trees.

(C) A Favorite: My (for today) Pink Car find while at Key West, Florida a few years ago.
(D) Street/Reflections: This made headlines!! Photo courtesy of Houston T V -- C h a n n e l 1 1.
Reminds me of the riddle, what is it that is Yellow and has screams from all over?
Hint, highlight the area between here - - It is a School Bus laying on its side - - and here.
(E) A Lagniappe. A repeat text from above, it seems all the flowers are looking great to make up for the poor weathering of the other foliage, i.e. the trees and bushes.

Bonus Questions:
(1) Tell us about any dealings you have had with Nasty Weather. We have been dealing with the unexpected Southeast Gulf Coast area cold snap. We were running the pool pump non-stop to keep it and the pool from freezing. When the lights went out the pump stopped and the pipes and one valve froze and broke. We had no heat in the house and it got down into the very low 40's inside. Good thing we had blankets. The car? The windshield cracked, that was about all. Two Blueberry bushes and three hedges died, as did our pretty Hibiscus, and the Orange tree probably also. Our Palm tree is supposed to be cold tolerant but so far it isn't looking good either.
(2) What is your favorite Word starting with "P"? Mine today will be "Pollution", because with Pollution we are slowly but increasingly ruining our Climate. In our lifetime things will get hotter in the summers and colder in the winters but we will survive. A future generation will have to be living in a man made environment. It won't be made of plastics because we will have run out of petroleum materials to make it.
(3) Anything else you were reminded of here that you would like to tell about?

P is for PERFECT PEACE. No nasty weather here, sunny most days this week but who know what next week will bring! Love all the old cars and that is a great shot for street photography even it is not your image. Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDelete...a Ford PHAETON never came to mind, perhap next time. It sound like Golf Cart PARADES was POPULAR in warmer areas, I know that they are in Florida. Louisiana PURPLE Iris are beautiful, I've seen them before. When I saw the PINK car I first thought of Mary K! The breaking news is a PARENTS worst nightmare. Thanks Jim for sharing, take care.
ReplyDeleteI never knew there was such a thing as golf cart parades! Sounds like fun. That Model A is quite a beauty. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI don't think we'll be seeing any parades for a while as we are in total lockdown.
