Letter "Q" -- Weekend Roundup and Street/Reflections

SEVENTEENTH LETTER FOR THIS SERIES

 - the Letter "Q" Prompts are: (A) Starts with the Letter "Q"; (B) "Quality" (Tom's Choice); (C) A Favorite; (D) Street/Reflections; and (E) A Lagniappe.

_ _ _ _

(A) Starts with the Letter "Q":   Quackery starts with "Q".  Medical Quackery includes questionable diagnoses using questionable diagnostic tests, as well as untested or refuted tests and medicines.

This is especially common with the present COVID-19 pandemic supposedly cures, some of our national leaders have been involved in such schemes, I lost a friend by giving a warning of such.  Formerly Cancer was the major area of misrepresentation.

This is the store front, in a strip mall
on West Gray Street in Houston.
Isn't it attractive?
.There is a similar pottery painting
place in Saint Remy de Provence, France.
Only they call theirs a Ceramic Cafe'.
It is called Biscuit & Biscuit,

I did a blog about them on April 19. (link).

(B) "Quality" (Tom's Choice):  Quality Pottery when you make it yourself.  This would also be great for Reflection posts material.

(C) A Favorite:   Blue Bonnets are Quite a Favorite in the whole state of Texas, they are our Texas State Flower and they grow wild more than the planted ones.

(D) Street/ReflectionsStealing from the kids -- I caught him in the act.

These are balls rescued from the golf course, many came from the water, some being held in the sand trap where Sam (not his real name) is raking for balls.  He found several but not his own.

The children's sign on the tree says:

$1.00 Yellow
...50¢ Blue
...25¢ Green

(E) A Lagniappe.   Perhaps later tonight

Bonus Questions:

(1)  Tell us about any experiences you have had with Your State or National or Parish, etc flower  We like to ride out of town and check on the Blue Bonnets.  Quite a few farmers have let the flowers take over like the picture above.  It won't be the Mustang Convertible this year as it has a problem that I have been putting off getting fixed.

Plus the doctor doesn't want me to drive with my boot on.  That isn't for damaging the toe but for getting in trouble with other motorists because of my bad driving.  I told the doctor that I use my LEFT FOOT for braking but he didn't buy that but told me of accelerator pedal problems.

(2) What is your favorite Word starting with "Q"?  Mine today will be  "Quack", because it also is used with a Quack Doctor.

(3) Anything else you were reminded of here that you would like to tell about?

  1. I also used the word "quack" this week in my blog. I posted many duck photos! Believe it or not, when my Dad was teaching me to drive, I always used my left foot to brake, because he did. So when it came time for drivers education in school, my instructor was not happy. It was hard to change, but I finally did. Have a good week, Jim.

  2. All you hear is Corona and the common flu is banished from the list. Quacks are indeed out there but those golf balls there is money in them if you have a lot of them. Beautiful pictures Jim. tx for sharing. Enjoy the weekend.

  3. ...I don't think that I would do a Quality job painting pottery!
...Blue Bonnets world be my favorites too.
...it looks like they need some drainage in that sand trap!
...they seem to find a lot of 50 cent balls.
    Thanks Jim for stopping by.

  4. I love those pottery painting places - we have one in Jeddah that serves food too - so you can eat while you paint.
