Letter "H" -- Weekend Roundup and Reflections

Day after, out our front window

We are safe and warm now.  Things got pretty cold here, even in the house our nose and ears got cold.  We lost power, heat, and water here for 48 hours straight and then on and off for a couple of more days.
Casualties here in Katy, Texas, are that our older daughter slipped on ice and broke her hip (she is mended now and is home from the hospital now) and our pool pump and pipes suffered.

The eighth issue this week of my 2021 WEEKEND ROUNDUP postings.
(THE EIGHTH LETTER FOR THIS SERIES) - the Letter "H" Prompts are: (A) Starts with the Letter "H"; (B) "Heavy" (Tom's Choice); (C) A Favorite; (D) Reflections; and (E) A Lagniappe.

from my "Jim1Jim1" YouTube collection,

(A) Starts with the Letter "H":   Happy starts with "H".  Adi, our Beagle dog, was always happy, I never saw her frown.  As a Pet Therapy partner with me, she loved visiting with the Alzheimer residents at our local assisted living home.

Above is a YouTube recording I made of her welcoming her true owner, our younger daughter who lives in Houston, on a visit with Adi and us.

(B) "
Heavy" (Tom's Choice):   Doing some Heavy Thinking.  She had spent a half day at the Houston Zoo.  Sort of tired, now mulling over all the new and strange things she had seen.  Age one and a half, our youngest grandchild.  She is eleven now.

(C) A Favorite:   Above is Adi after working with the Assisted Living Home residents.   Adi died in 2012 at age 16.

(D) Reflections:   From near the entrance to the Houston Zoo.  In the center of the photo is our Youngest Granddaughter at about a year and a half. [click on the picture for larger viewing.  If a + shows on your cursor click again for larger still

(E) A Lagniappe.   Three Happy Guys and a not so Happy Lady.  They are a part of a toy village that our younger daughter had when little.  They are about 40 years old.

Bonus Questions:

(1)  Tell about your experience with going to a Zoo.  Who all was with you?   We used to go to the zoo a lot when it was free.  Now ticket prices are outrageous.

(2) What is your favorite Word starting with  "H"?   Mine today will be "Happy".   I've used it a lot here today.  An old saying, "If the wife isn't happy then nobody is."

(3) Anything else you were reminded of here that you  would like to tell about?

  3. So sorry to hear about your daughter's injury. It does take some practice to get around on ice. Glad you have your power and water back. I've been worried about everyone in Texas. Even though we had the horrible cold, we are equipped to deal with it a little better.
