The sixth issue this week of my 2021 WEEKEND ROUNDUP postings and ... (THE SEVENTH LETTER FOR THIS SERIES) - the Letter "G" Prompts are: (A) Starts with the Letter "G"; (B) "Green" (Tom's Choice); (C) A Favorite; (D) Reflections; and (E) A Lagniappe.
_ _ _ _
(E.1) A Lagniappe first: Granddaughter in Green and Mrs. Jim fitting nicely in the Mrs.'s "Big Chair".
(A) Starts with the Letter "G": Golf starts with "G". Every late winter, early February for our part of Texas, we start talking about playing Golf again. It's been five years since we moved away from our Golf Course home and we haven't played since.
But we probably won't play at the course above because it is in Phoenix, Arizona.
Mom didn't trust the automatic transmission in the car Dad had purchased as she couldn't tell what gear it was in and was afraid it might be choosing the wrong gear at times. This Mustang II and a hot rod Ford Torino were the only Fords that year with standard transmission. She said, "Yes, get it for me" of the little down-sized Mustang. That was the first year of downsizing for it. It was built on a Ford Pinto chassis (we had a yellow 1972 model Pinto for our driver car--it was lost in our 1979 flood along with two other cars and a motorcycle.). (Copied from my 2017 post, http://jimmiehov.blogspot.com/2017/09/fridays-hunt-v411-k-is-for.html )
(B) "Green" (Tom's Choice): You may have seen my Green 1974 Mustang II Ghia, I was the original owner, buying it as a Ford employee lease car turn in. I bought it for my mom and she and my father immediately (two weeks later) came to Texas after it.
Mom died in 1999 and when Dad also died in 2007 the little Mustang II was returned to me. I promptly drove it back to Texas. It has a V6 engine, air conditioning, a manual opening top, and an eight track AM-FM radio.
Oh yes, original paint, new Whitehall tires, always was garaged, not driven in snow, and has 67,xxx miles mostly driven by a little old lady (a LOL).
(C) A Favorite: A giant's sling shot ready tree trunk. It is outside one of the Houston Methodist West facility where I got my second COVID-19 vaccine jab Tuesday this week. Down the road a few blocks yesterday I had cataract surgery.
(D) Reflections: Hard to tell but the Grass was Green around the pond in the background. This was taken last week during our walk, here was across the road from our home.

(1) Tell about your experience with getting the COVID-19. We don't intend on getting the vaccine. It's been a year and we've not been sick and we don't have other medical issues that would make this necessary.
ReplyDelete(2) What is your favorite Word starting with "G"? Grands and great grands. We are so fortunate to have such wonderful grands and great grands.
Have a fabulous day and weekend. ☺
