Letter "X" -- -- Weekend Roundup and Reflections/People on the Street
MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!
- - -
Weekend Roundup, THE TWENTY-FOUTH LETTER FOR THIS SERIES - The Letter "X" Prompts are: (A) Contains the Letter "X"; (B) "Looks like an X" (Tom's Choice); (C) A Favorite; and (D) A Lagniappe.
- - - -
(A) Contains the Letter "X": Texas has an "X" right in the middle of its name. An aside, I think that we were the only independent COUNTRY so far that has joined the U.S.
The blue dot is our house out I-10 in Katy, Texas. Our town is a suburb of Houston, bordering it on its west side.
We used to live north of Houston, northwest of Conroe. Conroe is on I-45 heading out to Dallas, about a three and a half hours drive. Before we moved, we lived in a small subdivision of about 2000 homes bordering Lake Conroe on its northwest side, right off the bottom right foot of "AM's" letter "M".
All you see is flat land until on the north at the lake small rolling hills begin. Then our home was 75 miles, an hour and a half drive, to where we live now. Our post office was in Montgomery, covered by the "105" highway marker west of the lake.
The Houston Ship Channel ends about at the bottom of the letter "n" of the word "Houston". The Port of Houston has widened Buffalo Bayou to the right all the way out to Galveston Bay which extends south down into the Gulf of Mexico. Buffalo Bayou goes to west of our Katy someplace. Heavy rains over ten inches start the flooding over it's part of town from Katy and into Houston.
(C) A Favorite: Leftover Pizza is my Favorite when cold from the refrigerator. The time of day when I'd be eating it makes a cold pizza snack extra good.
(D) A Lagniappe. . "X" is for Xmas Tree. This is a page copied from my "jim's little Christmas Tree blog' which you can see using the link below. At the end of the "Fine Print.
