**Île-de-France is one of the twenty-six administrative regions of France, composed mostly of the Paris metropolitan area. Its name literally means "Island of France", maybe from ancient Frankish Liddle Franke, "little France". (Wikipedia)

Cold in Duluth -- MidWeek Blues -- Happy Birthday Sister!
My sister, Lois, is celebrating her birthday! She is standing on the first cement pad waiting for the ship to come into the ship canal at Duluth, Minnesota.
She called me from that pad to let me know that she should be on the Web Cam. You can watch the ships come if you'd like, click here.
This is what Iowa people do for relaxation. They need rest from all the excitement there in Iowa, the place "where the excitement begins" as stated on the welcome signs when you drive in.
Her green jacket is a heavy one for cold weather. I have one like it. We call it our green Pioneer jacket. Dad sold Pioneer Seed Corn for quite a while and he gave us these jackets for Christmas one year.
I do hope Lois gets down here to Texas this winter when it is really cold up North.
Last year's picture below. Click here for the whole last year's blog.
If you want to post a MidWeek Blues picture, go get directions from Rebecca by clicking on the logo here. She has a Mr. Linky and good directions . Just do what I did.

What is Amber doing?
It is often hard to even guess what a cat is doing or thinking. We have known Amber for so long that we can read her mind.
Amber is sitting on the couch purring as she has just been caressed lovingly by Billy's nephew.
Not good though, the truth is that Amber is watching TV. The Dallas Cowboys are on their way to losing their game. When she stayed with us (link) at least she had the decency to watch the Houston Texan team if she watched football at all.
When she stayed with Terry in Ontario she would watch Deal or No Deal. She doesn't hardly ever watch that one anymore either.
Please click here for a lot more of Amber on this blog. I will add that Amber is Karen's cat and lives with her and Billy.

Mrs. Jim's Lucky Day -- Ruby (Red) Tuesday --
This in a way isn't good luck. Mrs. Jim has nice friends. Her friend, "Mrs. L", gave her this lovely sack of Louisiana long grain rice that she brought back from her recent visit to the East.
Of course she stopped in at her home town, Crowley, Louisiana, to buy rice for herself and Mrs. Jim. and to see family friends and relatives for a bit. Most every time she goes back to her home town she get more rice. Louisiana people eat a lot of rice. Mrs. Jim did also when she was growing up in Louisiana, her birth state.
Mrs. Jim loves to cook so "Mrs. L" also got her this nice cookbook. Mrs. Jim already has chosen several of those Louisiana recipes from this Southern Cookbook.
Click here to see a lovely basket that she gave Mrs. Jim one other time.
On the left is the door prize Mrs. Jim got at the subdivision Ladies Organization today. One of the ladies who does pet sitting donated a one day's pet sitting. Now all we need to do is find some place we can go off to. Then the dogs can get sat.
On the right is her favorite magazine. Mrs. Jim is a gourmet cook in my opinion. She really cooks good when the occasion arises. We do not eat gourmet everyday.
If she hasn't gotten here November issue, then this October one may be the last. The company who publishes Gourmet has filed bankruptcy. We are hoping that means they do like General Motors and keep on printing.
Her "Grandma P" got her this little swing.
Baby KP likes it so much that every time she sits in it and swings just a little bit she goes to sleep. That is relaxation!
Please note the pink dress and the little bit of red on the swing toys. I did want you to believe that this picture belongs to the Ruby (Red) Tuesday meme.
Click the Ruby Tuesday button for Mary's Ruby Tuesday post list.
Mary is in charge there, you can see more or post your own from there.

Not so funny, Baby Dedication and a roll-over -- Sunday night / Monday morning funny
Today, October 11, 2009, was Baby Dedication for Baby KP. As you can see, this is a family affair with the whole church promising to back the family up. The family promises to raise the child dedicated to God in a manner of teaching and showing by example what it means to be a Christian.
There were 47 dedicated today, they do this two times a year. You can see there was no space up front for the grandparents. But you can be assured we were present in the congregation.
The stage at the church is a full 360 circle. There is not front or back. Behind the families and infants the choir circles the stage standing on steps.
The picture on the right is taken in the nursery area. The 'nursery lady' for babies to age two said she had 270 in attendance today. Church membership total for all five campuses is over 50,000 members. Karen and Billy's church, the "West" campus in Katy, Texas, seems to have it's 10,000 portion. The place was packed today. (Second Baptist Church, Houston -- link)
This second portion really isn't too blogworthy except that my little Camera, a pocket sized Sony W-55 7.2 MegaPixel, just rolled over in the count.
The picture on the left is # 9,999 and the one on the right is 10,001. I erased # 10,000 as it didn't know what it was something to save and the picture wasn't good.
On the left is the overhead monitors for the auditorium.
On the right is Dr. Ed Young preaching this morning at the Second Baptist Church Houston Texas at the Katy, Texas, Campus. He may be on some of your TV stations with his program.
