— Six Word Saturday —

my Six Words:
I am most proud that it finally went over 100,000 views. And even though many people get to 100,000 way before the nearly eight years it took me to get there (December, 2005 to now) it is fine with me.
At left Google is showing just now 143455 pageviews.
But I had Google set to count my own views too, while Site Meter has not been counting my views. Site Meter also does not count certain other viewers. I know this because sometimes I try to track a commenter at a certain time when the comment was left but Site Meter has no one tracked at that time.
What is the picture of? I was looking through my Achieves for back in July, 2011. I took the picture while I was in the midst of having my left knee joint replaced by the Bone and Joint Clinic of Houston (link). They did a good job, I play golf with no pain from it. But my doctor did say "no running."

my Six Words:
Good poker hand--my Site Meter
It read 100,101 — Pick any five digits (cards) and you've got a full house. In poker a full house (three of one kind, two of another) beats everything except a straight flush and four of a kind (Wikipedia shows card hand rank). Of course at 100, 111 there will be four of a kind and before at 100,100 there was one.

Happy Birthday Katrin
.
A BIG, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to KATRIN!
Katrin, our adopted toy poodle, is 13 years old today. We have had her for seven years now, since July, 2008 (YouTube Link).
We like her a lot!!! And since Adi (our beagle dog, my buddy) and Amber (an amber yellow tiger cat) died Katrin is our only pet.
Her doctor (a vet) also sent her this nice card for today.
Even though Katrin is a dog, not a cat, she is our only pet now. Amber, her sister, a cat, is no longer with us.

Cats are cute -- Feline Friday

This picture advertisement was at the top part of the subway train car along with the other ads.
I really wouldn't call this cat cute (you might if you have one like her) but the idea is cute for advertising.
Click on the picture a couple of times to get it as big as it will be and you might be able to read it. I caught this while the sub was moving.

A Random Five post [012] — Youngest Granddaughter Birthday
.
One: We had 11:00 AM tickets to the children's play, We're Going on a Bear Hunt, at the Lyric Theatre, London. This was for KP's birthday. KP turned four on the 16th of July. Most parents are familiar with this story.
The book (review), We're Going on a Bear Hunt, was about a Dad, Mother, Daughter, Son, and their Dog going on a bear hunt. One difference was that the daughter was missing in the play. She may have been sick or overslept.
sTwo: After the play, in the afternoon, we stopped at the toy store. KP played with a lot of toys but she really didn't ask for anything.
Mrs. Jim bought her an electronic toy cash register. All little girls need a cash register with play money, some grocery items to sell, and a credit card that swipes. Lauren now has hers.
Three: In the evening we had pizza at the local Pizza Express Restaurant. KP's favorite is Margarita with cheese and tomato sauce.
This was on the children's menu and came with a drink (milk for KP), a coloring booklet with a box of borrowed colors, and a cake. The cake went into a nice take home box.
Four: The evening was topped off with birthday cupcakes at home. KP always likes the cake and blowing out of candles part of birthday celebrations. The cakes were very good also, Karen brought them home with her after her work. I had red chocolate velvet.
Five: Finally after two weeks in town I had fish and chips. Above you see an one piece of fried haddock order with about a third of an order of chips and a third order of mushy peas.Very traditional British.
We ate at the Golden Hind seafood restaurant. Karen had our reservation for 6:45. For appetizers we had calamari or fish cakes to share. I had a fish cake, but I ate half of it before I remembered to take a picture.
We took the long way home to go through Selfridge's (history link) on our way to the bus stop. KP was treated to a chocolate yogurt dish on the way through the store.
Today--the 19th (I wrote this last night) is Karen's birthday. We will go out to eat real fancy for it after her work. I'll tell you more about that later.
It is also Katrin's birthday. She is 13 years old today (link) or scroll above if you are seeing this on just plain Jim's Little Blog (link).

"I" is for
.
"I" is for frozen Ice Cream treats -- I like all of these. Generally I buy what is on sale, eat most all I can, and give a couple to some others.
"I" is for Ice Cream Store also -- This is where KP got her Milk Chocolate. The store sell mostly Gelato which is softer and often creamier than ice cream. (Gelato link)

"I" is for Ice, shaved ice -- I don't know if this works now or not. It can be trailered. I am sure it has been restored. Now it sits at the entrance to my friends old car museum.
"I" is for Little Girls Like Ice Cream -- This is KP. Our granddaughter is getting to be a big girl now that she is four. Her birthday was the 16th of July. Milk chocolate is her favorite color, sometimes she has it in a dish and other times she eats it in a cone.
"I" is for Isetta (Got to have a car in my post) -- This, below, is a 1958 Isetta A-300. It belongs to my friend who keeps it in his garage museum. Read the sign to learn about it. (More here: History; Google search link for pictures, articles, and Isettas for sale)
I was in the service in 1957 when the German made models were introduced to the U.S.A. Being stationed in El Paso, and Army town, I saw quite a few of them being used as a cheap second car. I had a Sears Vespa Motorscooter for a second car as they sold for less than $300.

Two Shoes Tuesday ~~ A Poem

The Fast Learner
It sounded so easy,
Flying Trapeze School.
Just get on-line and pay your fee.
Big Al Lee did that right after
he saw the sign at the park.
First day at school was a lark.
He'd never had so much fun
at the park. Push ups and pull ups
were easy for him,
a body builder from the start.
He wasn't keen on staying
with the others as he figured
he was way ahead.
All this was talk, they even
prodded him to take notes.
But Al Lee never took a note in his
life and wasn't about to do it now.
The day of Safety School
he played hooky. Easy stuff,
he just didn't come to class
as he knew all that already.
His final day of school came
early for him. He climbed
up the ladder and did a few
spins and twirls at the top.
Then along came a big wind
and blew our Al Lee down.
He broke seventeen bones
and had to leave the school.
You see, Al Lee was the only
one to go up that day. All
the others learned not to climb
in the wind at Safety School.
