Letter "G" -- Friday's Weekend Roundup 08 / Reflections and-or Street Captures

This Week's Prompts: Starts with "G"; A Favorite; "Glass"; and Reflections and-or Street Captures
 _ _ _

Starts with "G":  Golf starts with "G".  Before we moved to Katy (TX) we had a pretty par 5 fairway adjoining our Golf Course lot.  Mrs. Jim played two times a week, I played one or two.

For sure I played in town with the men in a Sunday Morning Bible Study class every Tuesday morning.   The men in our subdivision played Thursday mornings and sometimes I would play with them.

A Favorite:   This is Mrs. Jim and BP, our next youngest Granddaughter, riding in our Golf Cart in the subdivision's annual July 4th Golf Cart Parade.   BP was about Eight then, now she has graduated from College with a Master's degree and has a fine job, out of town. (some parade posts from my blog here)

They worked hard on the decorations, Karen and I helped some. I aways had the job of blowing up balloons.

Tom's Choice, "Glass":  These Teapots, mostly are Glass and a few might be pottery like China.  The little Green Glass one is the newest, Mrs. Jim and I bought it at the British store in Houston.  It makes tea for one, she had been wanting one like that for quite some time.

On the right is a part of our built in China cabinet, it is against the entire north wall of our breakfast room.  At the present time I am using it for office work, tax time is coming.

From left to right,
    the speckled teapot we bought in Poland when we visited (it was made there);
    Next is one that my mom had, it was made in Japan before the WWII;
    In the middle is Mrs. Jim's little Green Glass teapot from England, it is a "Price Kensington" product;
    The yellow teapot was also my mother's, it is a Lipton promo, she probably used box tops to get it, on the bottom is says "Lipton Tea";
    Finally, on the right is one that my niece gave us, I had a red phone booth souvenir from the U.K. and her son dropped it and broke the lid.  She replaced it with this, thank you again, BWC.

Reflections and/or Street Captures:  This is a very bad selfie of myself, taken last night standing in front of the back door, at eleven o'clock.  I was a mess.

A Lagniappe:  Play day is over, all are in from Golf, driving the club's Green Golf carts.  Three Red Shirted Fellows and eight of us others will now go on to Incredible Pizza who is having 'all you can eat' senior lunch for $4.50 plus tax for the 19th hole eating.

That four-fifty includes pizza, other entree foods, salad, drinks, and desert.  Alcohol is not served there.  (BTW, about the time we were moving this Golf course closed, not to be reopened.  It was my favorite and the least expensive.)  (from a search of my blog for the word Golf, click here)
