A Naughty Dog -- MidWeek Blues -- Toothpaste tube demise

This week I have a guest writer, my 12-year-old granddaughter, BP.

The setting:
KP, daughter Karen, SIL Billy, and newest grandchild, KP, were visiting for the weekend.

BP was using my office for her room. That was nice for her as my couch is a hide-a-bed.

Our little dog, Katrin then sneaked into her room and got into mischief.

This BP ably relates in her story here: (posted earlier on JIM'S LITTLE P&P PLACE)

Rest in Peace, My Dear Toothpaste

A normal day for one to behold. An average day in comparison to the normality of the life we face. Then, it happened. Katrin disappeared; we did not think twice, we assumed to play. A fatal mistake, as you will soon find out why.

Suddenly, a ripping noise, the sound of shredding, worse than nails on a chalkboard. I raced towards the noise, that terrible noise. Katrin sat on the couch, eating my toothpaste like ice cream. The end of the tube was torn to Smithereens. Blue gel flowed out like water, only soon to be licked up by Katrin.

The bag, my toothpaste's only protection, his bodyguard, lay fatally injured, never to hold and protect once again!

So may you rest in peace, my dear toothpaste, or would rest in pieces be more appropriate?

All thanks to that menace of a toothpaste killer, murder of cavity fighting goodness, Katrin.

Two 4 Tuesday -- Black and White

My black and white is hiding behind the tree. I found this fellow helping at the courthouse cutting some grass. When he saw me with the camera he ducked behind the tree trying to hide.

I didn't want his face anyway, just the black and white striped uniform.

Now who says prisoners have the life of Riley living at a country club. It was 98 degrees F out there, I know he was working up a sweat with all those clothes on. I was wearing a loose shirt and shorts.

Help save the wolves -- you can send a message

A direct link to this YouTube message by Ashely Judd:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qK1mZ4fL6Pk

I have signed this petition, you can too: (
link)

Here's what you'll read there, then sign or read more from the drop down menus.

Urge President Obama to Stand Up for Idaho Wolves
Idaho officials have announced they plan to allow hunters to target the 1,000 wolves in Idaho, shooting and killing up to 220 wolves during this hunting season alone.

In just a few days, more than four thousand -- of an estimated 70,000 -- wolf-killing permits have already been sold!

Help us save these wolves! Fill out the form below to send President Obama a message urging him to stop Idaho’s awful wolf hunt and restore Endangered Species Act protections for gray wolves in Idaho and Montana.

- - - - - - -

God had appointed us as stewards of his earth. This doesn't sound like we are doing a very good job of it. How will these officials answer to God?

Unless we stop the hunt, hundreds of wolves could be killed, with orphaned wolf pups -- unable to hunt for themselves -- left to starve to death during the brutal winter months.

A Model T Ford Garage carport/shed find -- Ruby (Red) Tuesday --

[large picture] [super large]

After last week's Ruby Tuesday activities at the 'Down Home Cooking' restaurant where I gave it a rating, my friend, John, asked me if I minded following him to this place. He had left his camera home and wanted some pictures of a car he knew about. I never pass up opportunities to look at old cars so off we went. This is what he wanted to see, he had discovered them earlier in the year. They are a pair of Model T Ford cars. Either 1926 or 1927, my guess in 1927. In 1927 the Model T had wire wheels standard equipment, in 1926 they were optional. Before that the T's used wooden spoke wheels. Please note that the wheels are red. That bit of red is what is keeping me honest today for Ruby Red Tuesday. I was surprised and delighted with the find. The last time John had talked with the owner they were not for sale. Times and circumstances since have changed now. He doesn't know if they could be bought. I suggested that he offer to pay $1000 for cleaning the shed out if he could have the cars and whatever else the family did not want. That means work but John has some grandsons who would really like to help grandpa in his quest for more old cars.

The one on the right is for sale at a moderate price, $9,950 . It has been restored but before the restoration I imagine it looked very similar to the one John found in the back of the shed.

The front one is my favorite. Hot Rodders use them to make "T-bucket" hot rods. Most of the originals have been either restored or used up for hot rods. A new fiberglass reproduction body can be had for several thousand dollars.
