Second Sunday of Advent


'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.'

Christmas is coming. Now 15 days, are you closer to being ready?

That's what Advent is about, getting ready for Christmas. This is the candle set-up for the Second Sunday of Advent. There are four Sundays of Advent before Christmas, here there are two candles, one lighted for each Sunday.

The second Sunday of Advent may be time to reform. John The Baptist who preceded Jesus had this warning:
"(1) In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the Desert of Judea (2) and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near." (3)This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: "A voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.' " Matthew 3:1-3 NIV (link)

Hi it is nice to remember the real celebration of Christmas isn't it? I am focusing on that aspect this time around, or trying to at least. Cheers Margaret
