[And here for a very large picture] Back in Italy again after a week in Provence, France. This time on the Italian Riviera at Vernazza. That will be the town of Corniglia across the Bay. We took the train to go over there.
These are a couple of the five villages, or Cinque Terre, (Monterosso al Mare , Vernazza , Corniglia , Manarola , and Riomaggiore [link, Wikipedia]). We visited the first four by train. We did walk the trail along the cliffs from Corniglia to Manarola.

Living is high here in Vernazza.

Hi Jim, Wow great trip lovely photo's well ive seen houses built on the cliffs but not boats at the doors lol.there possible chained, When in Rome we saw push bikes motor bikes all chained to lamp posts or what ever they could to secure them, Business people we were with had to take their car radio out of car and carry with you cause they said it wouldnt be there when you got back to your car..

I like your Italian pics. Espcially Vernazza was facinating.
We've been three times in Italy. First time Garda, Verona, Venezia, Parma and brithtown of Verdi, Roncole Verdi in Reggio Emilia. (Gunnar drove in a rented car, I was scared out of my mind on the autostrada.
Second time Rome, brethtaking and in every way unique.
Last fall we went to Florence, Toscana and Pisa, even the rain was beautiful in Florence.
We'll have to the southeren part of the boot as well, but I doubt it'll be this year.
I can't believe you did not come to Norway when your son was working in Stavanger. That's just 120 kilometer south of our small town Haugesund.
If you are in London, there's cheap direct flights from Stansted to our town, only to tours in the air. (The waiting on the airport might take longer time than the actual trip. But that's about politics and not even democracy).
I am a bit embarassed that my language turned out to be that foul.
It's not what I learned in school 40 uears ago, but influenced by numerous American series sent on Norwegian television.
So sorry to have offended good people.
I guess I am not esy to put in an American box. To times I can be critical to both church ans gouvernment, hence the b word.
On the other side I'm raised in a value conservative pentacostal congregation, and even if I am not a member of the pentacost church, I have much sympathy for their honest and eager way of worshipping and teaching.
Of couurse I would be honoured if you'll link your site to mine.
i'll like to do the same to yours, but must waut until handyhusband Gunnar has fixed our washingmachine, helped our daughter to master her new Mac Pro and cut the 2 meter high hedges around our garden.
I AM SO THANKFUL ABOUT YOU PRAYING FOR SIGVE. HE REALLY DOES NEED HELP FROM GOD AND US LIFTING HIM UP IN PRAYER. HE HAS FOUND REDEMPTION AND AS AN OLD SAILOR HE HAS CAST HIS ANCHOR IN HEAVEN. HE IS IN MUCH PAIN, LONGUES GETTING FILLED UP WITH WATER ALL THE TIME.
I AM GLAD I ONCE MORE CAN BRING HIM THE NEWS THAT HE IS BEING REMEMBERED AND PRAYED FOR.I'VE SEEN THAT HIS COURAGE HAS BEEN STRENGTHEN BY THIS BEFORE.

I can't believe that it's been two months since you had the accident to your knee. It's good to know that you don't have to have surgery on your knee and I trust everything will be as good as new in due course.
You also asked me if I went to the top of the Statue of Liberty in 1975. Yes I went right up to the lookout at the crown. It's a shame due to a long list of fire regulation contraventions, including inadequate evacuation procedures that visitors are no longer able to go up into the Statue.
