.

Haimus was glad that the new tenants were savvy people. He regretted their having a tabby cat. Why not a more hostile type?

His once tepid brew is out the window, undrank, surely chilled.

Not unlike you, Jim, this Succinctly Yours "look at pictured life" is the cat's meow! (<--cLiCkY-cLiCkY for the real deal!)

At least he went with a cold brew in his hand!

Good story, Jim! It's good that now he only observes, rather than moaning and shaking chains, so as not to scare away the new savvy tenants.

Funny story, made me laugh.
The window is exactly the same as the ones in the old hen house in my mother's garden.
Made me long home.

Love your take and your response to mine. :-) You are very clever.

It's something when you have to leave with a cold cuppa!

A ghost of a guy I am thinking :0 Good one Jim!

If I'm stuck observing in the afterlife, I want my coffee to be hot. I'd better take my coffee warmer with me, as I'd prefer to skip the alternative method of warming it. :D

Great take on the picture Jim. :)

Clever, as always, and a tad bittersweet, too. Who wants to be forever an observer?

This is quite a sad and thoughtful story. I liked the use of the word 'tepid'!
