"Pick up the shells John, don't stomp them."

"It's okay, Suz, they're all empty. Bummer!"

"Toil! I buy you buckets, you eat the handles."!

The secret word is toil. If you find it in the story please highlight it and click on it. The duck will then appear.**
I used the word here as an exclamation, clearly and definitely not its usual usage.

The 'toil' prompt word and the picture were selected by
Grandma.
It's posted on her blog, Grandma's Goulash
Her Rules: Use the photo as inspiration for a story of 140 characters OR 140 words. It doesn’t have to be exactly 140, just not more.
Using the prompt word is not required

**Note: Groucho Marx, on his TV program, You Bet Your Life (link), always had a secret word. If the word was used during his program the duck suspended from the ceiling would drop.

Haha--You and Jerry thought alike--both of you had the boy stomping on things. How did you ever figure out how to make "toil" invisible till you highlight it, and then to make the duck appear when you click on it?! I'm impressed.

That's quite an appetite :-)

It must be Groucho Marx day, Jim. I had him, and Harpo and Chico and Zeppo, in my submission to Magpie Tales today.
I did click (on the blank word) and saw the blue duck.
Great fun.
(I had the little boy stomping, too.)

Very nicely done. You do these so very well.

Have a terrific day. :)

I'd better tell quickly.
Texas A&M students are called Aggies and there are all kind of Aggie jokes around. They are similar to blonde and Polish jokes.

One Aggie joke is that the parent says that he buys his Aggie student books but the student eats the paper.
..

I like the last line. O Toil! You eat my hardware!

Poor shells - LOL

Just as well the shells are empty, huh?

I like the way you use toil! LOL Funny.

It's okay to stomp if the shells are empty. Toil as an expletive sounds good to me:-)

Jim,
1) So nice of you to have gone to my other 'birdhouse'. Appreciate very much your comments there.
I have no answer on the difficulty in getting through to my 'Rainbow'. Meaning I should be getting comments but were denied and not even realizing it. I hope nothing of this happens next week.

2)Your postings are great! The hidden duck is a real surprise. A pleasant novelty. Thanks for sharing!

You Bet Your Life, you literally "quacked" me up this time, Jim! The Groucho duck's definitely a nice touch! I hope we see him next week and the week after and the week after...YES, every week! How 'bout a contest to name him, too?

loved your microfiction. and your short story.

I'm not sure how I missed this, but I am having a good laugh now. Really like this one, Jim.
