I, too, have heard that having three wives and living in a shoe never works, especially with such young wives!
They are kids! I thought about the old nursery rhyme too. Grandma sure is creative with her photos.
Could you imagine an x-ray machine that looked like a shoe? My husband is a retired x-ray tech. I'll run that by him. lol

Jim--Jerry looked at the photo and all he could come up with was: "I work in a shoe, but my mom lives in a shoe." I made a unilateral decision not to use it. Editor's prerogative... He doesn't care if I sometimes don't use what he said (he dictates it to me and I type it).
"Jim's Little Blog" has been included in the Sites To See for this week. Be assured that I hope this helps to point many new visitors in your direction.

Glad to have you back from your vacation, Jim, and you certainly haven't lost your microfiction touch. Poor John. He needs a far bigger shoe than that to house three wives!
In answer to your question about the photo:
It's from a Duke University digital collection on "the emergence of advertising in America". I've used several of the photos in the past. I really enjoy looking at those pics - times have certainly changed. This week's photo caught my eye because it was from a shoe store in Rochester, NY. I lived there for twenty years, although I don't think the store was still there.
