The Letter "C" ~~ Weekend Roundup and Reflections
The third issue of Weekend Roundup for this year, 2020...
(THE THIRD LETTER FOR THIS SERIES)
- the Letter "C" Prompts are:
(A) Starts with the Letter "C";
(B) "Clear";
(C) A Favorite; and
(D) Reflections.
_ _ _ _
A) Starts with the Letter "C": "Country" starts with "C". The map above shows the five Small Countries of Europe. We have visited four but NOT San Marino.
San Marino is land locked by Italy. That gives us a good excuse to revisit the lovey Countryside of Tuscany. BTW, its official language is Italian and has a population of over 33K. For more check out Wikipedia, click here.
(B) "Clear": "Clear"ly Wine Country. South Africa about 150 miles outside Cape Town.
(C) A Favorite: A South African Bungalow placed inside a game preserve. There were several, I forgot to ask whether or not tourists could rent one. I am thinking some of the permanent staff may live in some.
(D) Reflections. Looking away from our balcony. Across Granger Bay, Cape Town, South Africa, after dark. Note the tall masted sail boat docked on the left.
_ _ _ _
My Two Questions (you can answer just one if you'd like):
1. What has been your experience with visiting Countries outside the U.S ? I have visited all 50 of the U.S. States, most Western Europe Countries, and Countries in all Continents except for Antarctica.
2. What are your tastes in Holidays, i.e. Vacations? I like best driving. Either in the States or far away places.
Bonus Questions:
1. What is your favorite "C" word? "Country", foreign or the rural type.
2. What is your take on Wine, the industry or drinking or both? Have you ever made your own? We have visited wineries in Texas and many other places. I have not tried to make wine, I have too many hobbies and duties to tend already. If I needed something to do it could be on my possibility list. An untold youth story here. Nah na nah na na.

I agree with you I would love to go to Tuscany - wish I could stay a year. Seriously.
I enjoyed your cruise photos - lucky you.
You have gone to so many places - we have gone to Europe a couple of times and Alaska.
I like to go in style - I hate to admit that.
Can't say my favorite way of traveling is driving - I am a bad driver - I fall asleep.
I like wine - but I like I like the sweeter ones - my son calls it cool-aide - I am not a real drinker.
My favorite C word - candy.
Is that bad?

1. What has been your experience with visiting Countries outside the U.S? I've only been to Mexico and I wasn't all that impressed. I would rather see America than visit other countries.
2. What are your tastes in Holidays, i.e. Vacations? We are doing a six state vacation in the summer. We're driving. Not long driving days and lots of time each day to explore where we are.
Bonus Questions:
1. What is your favorite "C" word? Courtesy. There is so little of it of late.
2. What is your take on Wine, the industry or drinking or both? Have you ever made your own? We love the Napa Valley in California, but we rarely drink wine anymore. We do love our Brut Champagne though.
Have a fabulous day and weekend, Jim. 😎

You are such a world traveller, and I love your South African bungalow the best. When I travel in Finland it is by car, abroad always by plane. I don't like ships, even if passages by sea to Sweden & Estonia are very popular here.
...Jim, you sure have seen parts of the world that I haven't. I don't like to travel so far away from home, I guess that makes me a homebody. Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you are having a wonderful weekend.
I found you through Weekend Reflections and enjoyed your post. Please come join our weekly linkup at

Nice night reflection shot! I'd like to visit all of those small countries someday. One down four to go. :-)
Hi Jim,
You have traveled many places. I have traveled much of the USA, all but eight states. And, I've also lived in 8 states. The only countries I've been to is Canada, Mexico and South Korea. So Korea was different, we were there for almost three months. I really hate to fly! So most of our traveling is driving, I love a road trip!
I'm not much of a drinker, either. I do not like wine or beer, but I will enjoy a margarita, on the rocks, at a good Mexican restaurant! Have a good week!
