Letter "F" - Friday's Weekend Roundup 10 / Reflections and-or Street/Candid Captures
- Tom's Requests: Starts with "F"; A Favorite; and Tom's suggestion, "Field".
Reflections: Taken at a canal near Northampton, England, U.K. In 2016 I used it here,
- James' request, Reflections and/or Street Photos/Candid Captures.

Starts with "F": Fleet, for my fleets of cars is my "F" word for this week. I have three Fleets, three different sizes of toy scale model cars.
This week I added to the fleet a Purple 1984 Ford Mustang Coupe. It is Matchbook car size, about 1:64 ratio, or smaller, to the real thing. I have four Mustang models now, the other three are convertibles. Two Red 1966 and a 2003(??) cast iron 1:18 scale make the others. The Matchbox size cars that are unpacked are all lined up abreast horse race fashion waiting for the starting flag, ready to race.
I also have two real Mustangs, a 1974 Green Ghia Sedan and my driver, a Pretty Black 1998 GT. Both are now Clasics by Texas definition, plainly "25 years and older."
Two of my toys, Farmall MTA Tractor was Dad's until he died and Pig was to me from our Vet when I was a small boy |
A Favorite: This is my toy Farmall Tractor, one of two. The actual tractors were manufactured by International Harvester in the USA, Dad's was a Model MTA like this one, my other is a Model H like my uncles had. My dad kept it on his desk, pulling a toy John Deere green grain wagon. My sister, Lois, has this and I have the tractor. We "drew straws", not literally but we each have what we wanted most.
Tom's suggestion: "Field": This is my youngest Granddaughter, KP, and me out on Dad's Farm in the Corn Field. She is now teenager and lacks a few inches of being as tall as I am. She was eight in the picture, now she is 13. Originally here in 2017
Do you remember the TV program, "He Haw"? The folks in the Corn Field popping up to sing was my Favorite Part.
Mama Duck has her little ducks in a row |
A Lagniappe 1: This is the Fleet before the Mustang. The Mustang will run between the light blue Jeepster and the Orange machine.
A Lagniappe 2: Countries I've visited that start with "F",
Finland and France

...Jim, if you count toy cars, I have a FLEET too.
...a FARMALL sure is a classic.
...how I remember Hee Haw when the cast would "pop up" in the Cornfield set, shouting "SAA-LUTE!!"
Jim, take care and have a wonderful weekend.

Jim you certainly have a lot of cars one way or the other. Love the peeping out of your granddaughter and you from the corn but my favourite image is of the ducks in a row. I hope you have a great week ahead and thanks for all your comments.
How old are the toys Jim? I've read that some of them from the 1950s and earlier can be quite valuable.
I've been to France and Fiji.
That's a nice picture of you and your granddaughter.
The cornfield reminded me of Twilight Zone Season 3 Episode 8: It's a Good Life - People live in fear of six year old Anthony Fremont (Billy Mumy), constantly telling him how everything he does is "good", since he banishes anyone thinking unhappy thoughts into the otherworldly cornfield from which there is no return.

I forgot to mention that I took my photo in March of 2013 not long after your granddaughter learned about boat tending. The little boy in my photo is probably about the same age or slightly older than your youngest granddaughter.
