Mom's Egg Scale -- Click picture for larger size

Starts with "Q":   Quantity and Quality both begin with "Q".  We buy eggs which are priced by Quantity and Quality.  Grade "A" eggs are at least 24 ounces per dozen.

Grade A eggs must have clean, unbroken shells of normal shape. The air cell of a Grade A egg must not exceed 3/16-inch in depth. The whites should be clear and reasonably firm, so that the yolk is only fairly well defined. Finally, it must be practically free of any apparent defects.

Quantity is generally six, 12, 18 or 36 eggs per carton.  I cook my eggs in the microwave.  Back in my bachelor days there weren't microwave ovens.   See the scale above for the other grades. Click here to read about Mom and I with the eggs, and more on eggs.

A Favorite:  Quaint old truck belonging to a ham radio fellow, see his antenna at the back.
Question (a Quiz):  Why is this old truck looking so Queer (starts with "Q")?
Answer:  Because it is Quaint and has an antenna for mobile operation on top of the cargo roof.

Tom's choice "Qintet":  These are a couple of the five villages, or Cinque Terre, (Monterosso al Mare , Vernazza , Corniglia , Manarola , and Riomaggiore [link, Wikipedia]). We visited the first four by train. We did walk the trail along the cliffs from Corniglia to Manarola.

James' Reflections and-or Street/Candid Captures:   This was a part of my friend, John's, five-acre yard.  We often had car club meetings at his home.  John died a couple of years ago.

A quaint little blog!

...eggs are an item that few people know much about, other that the price currently is high.
...I like your QUAINT, QUEER truck.
... Vernazza is QUITE a sight. There doesn't look to be any grass to cut.
Thanks Jim for stopping by, enjoy your weekend.

Vernaza looks amazing! I had eggs for breakfast but I've never thought to cook them in a microwave.

Clever ways to illustrate a challenging letter!

Eggs - an interesting subject. Caged eggs have just been outlawed here so people can only buy free range eggs, I'm happy about it, the caged industry was horrible, poor chickens.

Vernaza- 😱 (your friend Gel). Always enjoy your writings
