Getting Old -- MidWeek Blues -- Acrostic: Conquer

Previously posted on JIM'S LITTLE PHOTO AND POEM PLACE on October 18, 2008

Conquer It
what ails me
Common colds prevail .
Orneriness and ale ... .
Near sightedness, pills.
Queasiness and ills .....
Under bed monster ....
Elder aged and weak ..

Retirement's bleak . ...

If you want to post a MidWeek Blues picture, go get directions from Rebecca by clicking on the logo here. She has a Mr. Linky and good directions . Just do what I did. .
Or do less. All she requires is a BLUE PICTURE, you don't have to write.

That sign cracked me up. I want for for in front of my house!

I like that sign!

Yeah, Jim. Who knew one day we'd just let the monster stay under the bed to save our knees?

Jim - What a great combination of Acrostic and photo! I have never seen anything like that sign. That is hilarious. Kind of like a Duck Crossing. Oh dear...I try not to think about the whole aging thing.

The acrostic is really good...

Some of these things apply to me, but the retirement thing doesn't. I'm loving retirement.

Have a terrific day Jim. Big hug. :)

I'm almost to the point where I need the cane.

Wordless Wednesday - King of the Field

sign made me laugh

"gazuntite" means bless you when someone sneezes, I probably spelled it wrong

Hope sends hugs to KP

There is a little old man with a walker that walks by my house. He might walk every day. I'm not sure, but I see him on my days off.
Love the sign. Some of my older neighbors have either moved out or passed on and have been replaced by young families.

In reference to your Mom's "cat house" I suppose any one of those would work ~ just not on our new concrete pad. Maybe out behind our garage/barn. And as far as BBQing goes...Husband never had to grill and I stopped doing it a couple years ago when I finally smartened up a bit. lol

Kewl acrostic poem to accompany that marvelous sign ... delightful post! Thanks for dropping by Small Reflections. I can hardly believe it, but I'm celebrating my 2nd Blogoversary there now and I'd like to invite you to visit again when time permits ;--)
Hugs and blessings,

I like that sign!! Good poem too, to go with it!

I love your Scotland pictures. I'd love to visit that place someday.

:)..nice poem:)

Being as slow as the sign I don't find it funny. I do like the poem.

when i went to scotland i got to see nessie, the highland gamems men in skirts, big boats comming way up in to the fjords, and water water everywhere

I read:

Common cold, near sightedness, pills, aged, and weak.

Yup, pretty much sums up my life right now.
