Letter "R" -- -- Weekend Roundup
THE NINETEENTH LETTER FOR THIS SERIES - The Letter "S" Prompts are: (A) Starts with the Letter "S"; (B) "Silver" (Tom's Choice); (C) A Favorite; and (D) A Lagniappe. (A) Starts with the Letter "S"; My 1943 School Picture for 6th grade. It was a one room School for grades one through eight. I think the taller two girls were in the 8th, my Sister then five, to the left, was in 1st grade. I'm the boy in the back row.
Four of us were cousins, all were neighbors. This fall my high school class of 48 will have our 70th year class reunion. Because of previous engagements I was not able to attend. 18 of us are still around, a few others we may have lost contact.
(B) "Silver" (Tom's Choice): Our kitchen Silver Drawer. All Stainless and Plastic rather than Silver.
In the cracker box open display are our vitamins, minerals, and medicines, one box for one day. Mrs. Jim's are the red and yellow ones, mine are the green for mornings and blue for afternoons and evenings. Mrs. Jim keeps her night meds in the bathroom towel pantry.
(C) A Favorite: "Let Sleeping Dogs Lie," an old proverb. Probably the Bible Old Testament, Proverbs 26:17. " . . . one may consider the roots of this proverb to be in the Old Testament of the Bible, in the book of Proverbs, chapter twenty-six, verse seventeen: “He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one that taketh a dog by the ears.” " [ https://grammarist.com/phrase/let-sleeping-dogs-lie/ ] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
