One single impression: Stairways . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Sunday
Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." Genesis 1:26 (NIV)

Stairway Forbidden
Who you say, would dare?
Would dare put up that wall?
Just a simple stair,
access denied seems unfair.
A child small you say ,
no access seems alright.
And come whatever may,
little one, no way!
No mere child I cry!
This small wee one I love,
oh dear pet of my,
sweet doggie safe nearby.

A surprise ending :-) I was expecting a picture of a small child. But whichever, sometimes gates and denying access is for safety and must be employed. A nice take on stairs.
Cute! And a unique view of how must it seem to all little ones who see us put such things up - seemingly on a whim!
Adorable!! What whimsy! I just gave away my 2 child safety gates that I had for years for my Pekes. They no longer worked well for me -or should I say my cats! hahaha!
We have graduated to using the child gates for our animals. I think this must say something about humans and their pets!
What a lovely poem that made me smile. I remember those gates well -- it's been many years since I've had to use one, for child or furry creature. :~)
so adorable!! i haven't thought about stairs like this in a few years...thanks for the reminder of those days gone by!
Hi Jim. those gates bought memories back of many moons ago. I used them to keep the kids and dogs from going down a circular staicase to the basement..
This is a clever take on the prompt and so sweet! Thanks for your info re the pelicans. What did you mean when you said they don't swoop to fish?
Better safe than sorry I always say. We used to have to do that for our rabbits too. Now the cats have the run of the house, except those places where I keep the doors shut at all times.
Jim ~ Ah... poor little guy kept out by a gate? I loved the Telluride shots on the post below too. Looks like you guys are having a great time! I wish we were there! Hi to Mrs. Jim too! ~ jb///
oh goodness, i can so relate.. just a simple stair... it is a blessing that they make em so i can climb over now...
..no he won't get away (with what he wants).for here is a safe gateway to a stairway..thanks for sharing..
Those are so cute, both the photos and the poem. Poor little doggie, just trying to get from one place to the next. Aren't we all?
Poor Katrin seems puzzled by the barrier ~ Deb
Note: I wouldn't let Lucy comment on this one, or even see it, for fear it would be too upsetting. She has the run of the house although admittedly, it's all one level and she has no desire to attempt the cellar stairs.

Deb and all concerned:
We don't use that gate there any more. Katrin has the run of the house.
Until we doggie proofed the upstairs we had to keep her down. She got into my KitKat Bar stash and ate three. She was working on the other three but hadn't been able to open those wrappers yet before we caught her.
Thanks for checking through my blogs, I have fun with them but spend much too much time blogging. You must have the day off?
Tell Lucy hello, I've been keeping Adi away from the computer right now. Soon again, she will do some blogging of her own. :-)
