Starts with "L": Little is my "L" word for my 10th go around for Tom's alphabetics blog. I used it first in naming this blog. Even at that time back in 2005 there were several "Jim's Blogs" so as to make mine different I named it "Jim's Little Blog".

My first post back in December, 2005 is shown above. It now has 2322 blog posts online and 919 drafts for various reasons they weren't published. I write for my readers and have been doing versions of this blog since it started. I have way more readers than those leaving comments. Quite a few are you friends and relatives who read to see what is going on.
I've left my blogging contacts listed on the right margin for memories sales. Most don't blog anymore; several have died as well. Some are Facebook Friends now. Readership has really dwindled on this Weekend series, now in the 17th year for me. I was thinking of changing format this time for more readers but now plan to continue until the final "Z" word now.
I have also added James, "Weekend Reflections/Street Photos" (click here) although there isn't much sharing by bloggers there. I could perhaps find another blog site in additon to bolster my comment count. Most of the time James will return my comments with his. Tom, owner of Friday's Weekend Roundup, here, almost always shows up.

A Favorite: Lots of grapes today.
Tom's suggestion,"Loud": Here is "Mom's" 1974 Mustang II Ghia. It is Loud as I replaced the original rusted out mufflers with straight pipes, only the resonator mufflers are on now. The Ghia's had a V6 German Ford engine and I had put dual exhausts on it.
I was the first owner, Mom wanted me to buy her a stick shift Ford car from the lease cars turned in for the Spring of 1975. I worked for Ford Aerospace at NASA Houston then and some of our executives were encouraged to lease a new Ford every year.
Mom didn't trust the automatic transmission in the car Dad had purchased as she couldn't tell what gear it was in and was afraid it might be choosing the wrong gear at times.
Oh yes, it only has 67K miles, Mom didn't take it out of town. She died in 1999 and when Dad died in 2009, at age 97, I became the owner again.
Reflections and/or Street Photos/Candid Captures: A "Walk Picture" that I took Saturday evening; it is a pedestrian trail bridge over the now fairly low water stream but come a heavy rain the water could be up to the top of the excavation sides. Its purpose is for rainwater retention as a means of flood control.
Both sides of the ditch have a sidewalk like trail for walking. I used the one on the left Saturday night as I walked the mile plus a little home from church. There are several miles of trails.
O yes, there are a multitude of turtles that hang out under and near the bridge. Also, the black ducks like to be near in hopes a walker or runner will stop to feed them a bit. Click on the picture to make it larger and you will see better one of the ducks on the right side bank just before the bridge. Also at the end of the bridge are a man and a boy with their dog.
A Lagniappe: These are the Last two pieces of my egg and cheese sandwich. I cook the egg in the microwave in a sprayed dish, 66 seconds at 60 percent power. Cover it while cooking as it may "pop" one time, or more. Use one slice of toasted bread for open face, two for a regular sandwich.
When finished cooking lay a slice of American cheese on top while still hot in the dish. Remove it on lay cheese down on the prepared toast. I prepare the bottom slice with low fat mayo, the top with a couple of restaurant packs of catsup. Slice into two pieces.
VoilĂ !! A wonderful sandwich in less than 10 minutes preparation, even for two. You could embellish with a slice or two ham, chicken, or even a sausage patty. They are good on a biscuit if you have some.

Letter "Z" -- -- Weekend Roundup and Reflections/People on the Street
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! and
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
For the 26th letter time, The Week's Prompts are Christmas, A Favorite, and "Red and Green". The letter not asked for would be "Z".

Christmas: Our Christmas Tree lighted. It's a seven-foot store bought artificial. Also Red and Green.
At the foot of the tree is a manger scene, a Fisher Price "toy". It represents the purpose of tomorrow's holiday, celebrating the human birth of Jesus Christ. Christians celebrate it on December 25 regardless of the actual birth date. (Click here for viewing other nativity word posts)

Another Lagniappe: my favorite "Z" Words are
1. Zipper;
2. Zigzag; and
3. Zoo (not necessarily in that order; plus there may be other favorites that I have not mentioned.)
I am showing you a fence owned by my friend who has a "little ranch" near Telluride in Colorado.
Today I like best "zig-zag" as a zig-zag fence appeals to the hidden rocket scientist nature in me.
They can be freestanding without the use of buried fence posts. A section can be removed and put back for access/entrance without damage to the fence. Lastly on my short list is that their rustic looking appearance appeals to me.
- This fence belonged to my friend and neighbor before we moved to Katy. It was on his Colorado ranch and was there before he acquired the property.
He was a retired major oil company CEO who started in the Chemistry lab of the company when he graduated with his degree, a PhD in Chemistry.
A Reflection or a Street Photo Capture: during a little bit of Christmas shopping I had to use this restaurant. The store had two, both "any gender" per the sign.
It's been a long time since I've rated a relief facility but this on would have been a Zero except that scale goes from one to five. I RATE THIS ONE A ONE.
Another Lagniappe: Below, is the last full posting on this blog for the year, the following post is from 15 years ago. I started it in December 2005 but the picture and text below are from January 2006, it was Adi's, our beagle dog's, first of many on this blog. She was also on some of my other blogs here and there.
Incidentally, this blog has 2,257 posts, 884 draft posts, for a total of 3,140 writings. It has 18,690 comments with 710,899 hits. Quite a few families and friends read it and tell me about their viewing but don't leave comments.

The Letter "W" -- Weekend Roundup and Reflections

(A) Starts with the Letter "W": Wear starts with "W". We should all wear our masks. This young lady has become our city, Houston, Texas, mascot. I photographed her, full page size in our newspaper, The Houston Chronicle. The large lettering says,

(B) "Window" (Tom's Choice): The table is set for Turkey Day dinner. Out the Window we can see dusk has come. Note the Reflections of lights inside showing in the Window.
(C) A Favorite: "W" is also for Wagon. This Favorite picture of me beside "Mr. Tin Man" sitting in the old Radio Flyer Wagon (I think that is what it is) has been my Blogger profile picture for quite a while.

(1) How did you spend "Thanksgiving Day?" Mrs. Jim and I visited our daughter, granddaughter, and SIL in the early afternoon. Fairly soon we were at the table by the window, pictured above. Our fare was roasted turkey, turkey dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberries, green beans wrapped in bacon, and proper drinks. Desert was pumpkin pie and apple struddle. I had some of each..
(2) What is your favorite "W" Word? Mine today will be "Wiggle." All my life have tried to Wiggle my nose and ears without Wiggling other facial parts.

Stuff to know today ~~ this-and-that
2. Also I put this little ditty (a 'poem') on my other blog Saturday. My inspiration (?) was a picture, "Orangutan in the Rain" I chose Orangutan in the Rain photographed by Andrew Suryono for my inspiration. His was one of the winners of the National Geographic Photo Contest 2015.
3. The picture of KP and Mrs. Jim was taken last year as they were just coming out of the pantry after looking for goodies to eat. What do you think they found? (hint: KP loves chocolate)
5. One more, today is also "National Trivia Day." Did you know that the word “trivia” is plural for the word “trivium”.

my Six Words:
I am most proud that it finally went over 100,000 views. And even though many people get to 100,000 way before the nearly eight years it took me to get there (December, 2005 to now) it is fine with me.
At left Google is showing just now 143455 pageviews.
But I had Google set to count my own views too, while Site Meter has not been counting my views. Site Meter also does not count certain other viewers. I know this because sometimes I try to track a commenter at a certain time when the comment was left but Site Meter has no one tracked at that time.
What is the picture of? I was looking through my Achieves for back in July, 2011. I took the picture while I was in the midst of having my left knee joint replaced by the Bone and Joint Clinic of Houston (link). They did a good job, I play golf with no pain from it. But my doctor did say "no running."

Good poker hand--my Site Meter
It read 100,101 — Pick any five digits (cards) and you've got a full house. In poker a full house (three of one kind, two of another) beats everything except a straight flush and four of a kind (Wikipedia shows card hand rank). Of course at 100, 111 there will be four of a kind and before at 100,100 there was one.
