Our get-away — Six Word Saturday —
My six words:
The week of September 25 Mrs. Jim and I stayed at the Glen Eyrie Conference Center in Colorado Springs with a group from our Church. If everyone was in the picture except me then there were 27 of us attending. Each morning we had a speaker followed by a Bible study by our pastor from the book of James.
The middle Garden of the Gods (adjacent to Glen Eyrie) picture above shows Balancing Rock on the right and Steamboat Rock on the left.
Colorado temperature with highs in the mid 70s was a welcome relief from our high 90s we were having around here. One day there the temp reached 81°F but that did not seem hot.
Our afternoon activities consisted of a nice visit to the Air Force Academy and especially its beautiful Air Force Academy Chapel, the U.S. Olympic training facility, Old Town Colorado City, a look down from the mountain of the town of Cripple Creek, and a visit with lunch at Mueller State Park.

Oh wow, what a great place to get away! And a study in the book of James (a favorite of mine) made the time away ideal in my book! Colorado really is very pretty; I like Colorado Springs, would consider retiring there some day, maybe!
thanks for sharing your pictures; enjoy the day!
