Letter "N" -- Friday's Weekend Roundup 12 and Reflections and/or Street/Candid Captures

Letter "N" - This Week's Prompts: Starts with "N." A Favorite. For Tom, "N"ice". For James, Reflections and/or Street/Candid Captures.

.
Adi is posing with her aunt and uncle for a goodbye picture. We enjoyed staying with Lois and Jim (my sister and bro-in-law). You have seen most of our local tours. From August 2, 2006 post,
https://jimmiehov.blogspot.com/2006/08/we-say-goodbye-to-iowa-and-goodbye-to.html

Starts with "N":  Now soon I need to see my sister, haven't seen or visited with her, other that messages on the cell phone for probably nine years when she came here.  Next should be my turn.

But I may have waited too long, the ladies in my life think I am too old at 90 to drive that far anymore.  Southwest is having a $39 per flight sale now close like Memphis, $80 to Iowa where Lois lives.  But I wouldn't drive straight through all the way one, up or down, but would and stop and see/visit my cousin in Arkansas who is a couple of years later than my age.

A Favorite: New Driver of my latest Antique?  Car that I got back in 2000 for my retirement present.  I would retire in 2001.  This is our younger granddaughter, now a high school freshman.

CSU April hurricane forecasts FOX Weather©
For Tom, "Nice"Nice to know information, especially for us along the Gulf of Mexico coast.

James, Reflections
and/or Street/Candid Captures:  Seems I might have posted before.  Not sure where is located but feel it's close to our home, southwest of our home.  Sorry 'bout that.

...Jim, my family lives within 15 minute of our home. I'm younger that you, but I don't like travelling. Take care and enjoy your weekend.

My immediate family is mostly here, five kids, two daughters and three sons, six grandchildren, threr granddaughters and three grandsons, three great granddaughters, one greatgreat granddaughter and one greatgreat grandson. All live in the Houston area except one daughter lives in Ecuador and one grandson who commutes between Ecuador and California. My only sister lives in Iowa with her family.

Jim That is probably good advice you were given. Now i wonder will you take it? If there are alternatives, think again! Love that dog. Have a good week ahead

God is good!! God loves us all, hoping to see each and every one when they have that fatal fall. We pray for the ones who haven't yet trusted Jesus's death for that.
We older ones must carefully get our exercise. Both Arlene's and mine, separately said to walk, thirty minutes five days a week. She has late onset asthma and can walk only about half a mile now. Her breathing therapist told me that climbing a set of stairs and fown every two waking hours would be good exercise for me. I'm three months plus now from a right knee replacement and can climb those stairs using both feet to climb them now and can walk around our big block now.
I use a walker in the mornings after I get out of bed. I had fallen once doing that using only a cane. Two people from neighbors had to come help me up. Two of my kids suggested, and "ordered", me to use my walker after that.
I am 91 now so I take care. But I have fallen twice since that. Both times in the grass, neither of which called for me to use my knees to get me up by myself. Both kneecaps have been broken and didn't, wouldn't, heal. So I can't put weight on them, my body resists.
Charles Wisdom fell the other evening at church. He hurt his hand but the E.R. found nothing broken. News this morning said Nancy Pelosi was overseas and is now in a military hospital in Luxembourg awaiting surgery.
So be careful. If you have or can get a walker I suggest you keep it by you when you get up, from sitting long as well as your bed. I call that short time as 'getting my feet. Really getting my balance. Oh yes, Arlene fell at church, tripped on the curb getting to the sidewalk. Nothing was badly hurt.
Other than getting around and forgetfulness we are doing fairly well. I blame the COVID for that as well as losing my sense of taste and smell. We aren't sure about hers, her neurologist is watching for possible brain bleeding.
Two of our older kids, Tim and Susie, came over for a few days to help on household chores and fixing. Except for younger Karen, Lauren's mother who still works, the have time and ability to do some major jobs. Tim ladder work the like of bulbs and tree trimming. He is next to youngest, now 64, Susie is 66 and lives mostly in Ecuador. Not sure how permanent that will be. She is having a good and pleasant trial of that. Tim lives near in Deer Park 51 miles away. Both are single, Tim for a long time and Susie a widow due to hubby's COVID and heart troubles.
.
This got long and kind of personal, I would appreciate if you would take it off after reading it, making a copy is okay.
.
Oh yes, I am planning to start writing again soon, hopefully in January.
I put them mostly on my blogs,
https://jimmiehov6.blogspot.com/?m=1
for poems and maybe a little prose, and
https://jimmiehov.blogspot.com/?m=1
for fun, mingling, and communicating.
