The Letter "P" ~~ Weekend Roundup and Reflections
The sixteenth issue of Weekend Roundup for this year, 2020...
(THE SIXTEENTH LETTER FOR THIS SERIES)

Again this month, April 2020, I am participating in the National Poetry Writing Month daily posting of a poem of sorts. Mine are here, NaPoWri Mo 2020, for this year.

(A) Starts with the Letter "P": "Park" starts with "P". Here I was parked on the early slopes of Mt. Franklin in El Paso (Texas). I was age 21 and stationed there at the Fort Bliss U.S. Army post. This was for five years and three kids born at the William Beaumont U.S. Army Hospital. One other, our oldest daughter was born at a civilian hospital.
The car is my 1950 Jimmy Dean Mercury 2-Door. I traded it for my equity in my 1956 Ford Sunliner Convertible after I was drafted into the Army. That car was about a year old, I had purchased it new and my monthly payments were more than a Private's pay, married and two kids.
Mount Franklin overlooked El Paso and was easy to climb. I would climb up and take the cable car down.
(B) "Pair" (Tom's choice): The bird ponders a pair of pairs walking, separated about six feet apart, Governor's orders.
(C) A Favorite: A pair of Corn Dog Lunches that I made. The drink is Diet Coke, the pickle slices are Dill. I have made a lot of the noon lunches since our 'lock-in'.
(D) Reflections: Burial grounds for Diana Spencer, Princess of Wales. It is in England northwest of London quite a ways, at the family "Althorpe" Mansion and Gardens.

(E) Lagniappe: "P" is also for Pretty. This is a pretty little bouquet made from some pretty small flowers that I have picked on our daily 30-minute walks.

My Two Questions (you can answer just one if you wish).
(1) What comes to mind when you think of pairs? Mine is two Pairs of Docker sandals that I bought when on sale from Penny's. Also my firstborn children are a pair, twins.
(2) When is the last time you had a bouquet of pretty flowers? I don't remember, Mrs. Jim and I both from time to time make up a bouquet, Mrs. Jim will occasionally buy some at the Kroger grocery strore.
Bonus Questions:
(1) what is your favorite "P" word? This time it will be "Peace" I will be so glad when we can have peace in the world like years not too far back. The Bible says we will always have wars and rumors of wars.
(2) Do you have any pictures of cars you owned in the past, perhaps they are old cars of interest now? I don't have pictures of cars I have owned, especially ones before this Mercury and some after as most ofd our early pictures were ruined when ouer house flooded. I wish I had a few of those now.
(3) Have you been on a lot of walks now that we are confined. Tell about it if so, PLEASE. Mrs. Jim and I have started walking for at least 30 minutes each day, doctors' orders. Each of our doctors requested separately that we do this, on the same day. And those doctors probably aren't acquainted. Almost makes on think this was Provedential.

The Letter "K" ~~ Rev 04 - Weekend Roundup and Reflections

The 37th issue of Weekend Roundup for this year... (THE ELEVENTH LETTER FOR THIS SERIES)

(A1) Starts with the Letter "K": Kayaking in Lake Como starts with "K". This is our younger daughter, "K" and her Hub. Many marital spats arise from the management of keeping the Kayak on course. They wished to avoid that so "K" will take pictures and Hub will do the rowing. That was a good idea for them.

(D) Reflections: This is our microwave door window reflecting my picture while taking the coffee cup being warmed inside. It showed up as me taking a Selfie with our kitchen in the background.
Most time I take the driving pictures but Mrs. Jim was navigating and she thought it would be safer if she took this one. Especially since we were elevated changing highways.

My Two Questions for this week (you can answer just one if you wish):
1. My Reflection pictures - When you look into the microwave at stuff in there cooking or heating, do you check the Reflection Picture Potential? This was the first time I thought of that.
2. How did you celebrate Labor Day? I hope you didn't have to work. As you saw, we stayed home but had a backyard pool party picnic with some of the family.
Bonus Questions:
1. What is your favorite "K" word? I like Kinky but ...
2. Do you know how to swim? Good? When and how did you learn? Mrs. Jim and I each learned swimming at college. I broke my foot and so I missed the butterfly and all other forward strokes. I swim really good with the back swim as that was what was left when my cast was taken off. We had to jump off the high board and swim several laps of the U of Nebraska campus regulation competition pool.

Weekend Roundup ~~ 02,03-19 (for letters "B" and "C")
(...of Letters "B" and "C". I missed B" alone last week
so I'm trying to double up with "C this week.)
The two Weekend Roundups...
1. Starts with "B."; 2. A Favorite; and 3. Blue. also
4. Starts with "C."; 5. A Favorite; and 6. Candy.
and Perhaps
7. Reflection(s).
I am not sure that the Boat has been operational since the hurricanes. A lot of the damage on the island has not yet been repaired.
2. A Favorite: A Texas sized Hibiscus? At any rate I found it in the esplanade taking us to our house after leaving Interstate 10.
3. Blue and 4. Starts with "C.": Dark Blue Water and Light Blue Sky here. And "Caribbean" starts with "C". Also a nice Rosy Reflection of the Bright Sun.
We were out last week, down in the Caribbean Sea getting warm after our cold spell. At St. Martin (link) it was running 82-83 in the hottest part of the day and 67-68 at night nearing morning. So I am trying to play catch-up with a two-in-one post.
6. Candy: Candy Corn is one of my Favorites. Though I spent an extra Dollar and a half for a name brand this bag had almost as many partial, broken, pieces as it did whole ones.
