Happy 07-08-09 Day! -- MidWeek Blues --
FEMA did the blue for them.
What's the hold up with their insurance companies?
Hurricane Ike came last summer, nearly a year ago now. Still these people are having to live with temporary patches on their dwellings.
Almost immediately a FEMA rep showed up with the blue tarpaulins to keep the elements out of their homes.
Why even have insurance if we have to wait over a year for the repairs?
One thought; the widow lady in the small house may not have wind insurance as her home very likely is paid for. The other is only a few years old and most likely has a mortgage requiring insurance.
I'd be very blue too.

Another note, I've just had my 50,000th visitor here on my blog.
I don't know who it was but he/she looked at my French Millau Viaduct post of June, 2007. (Google link, fourth down)
I do know the visitor was from Huizen, Holland.

so sad mr. jim about those slower than molasses in january insurance pay outs, but it sure did make for you some nice photos just chuck full of blue.

50,000 is a good mileage Jim, not sure I will ever reach that. Insururance companies here are soon threatening you if you miss payments but its a different story when they get behind with their payments to us. Bob

I'd be blue too if I had a tarp on my home for over a year. Of course, I'd rather have a tarp on my home than have the rain and hail and wind coming inside.
Whenever I have midweek blues, I have a chocolate truffle. It doesn't take away problems, but it sure gives a temporary uplift.

Jim, some of those people got insurance money and did NOT spend it on repairs..... I know a few people who did that...Silly, I know.

I like the way you combine photo with an engagement.
My dad always would encourage me to read the small print on the insurance forms.
He actually used the many problems in the US as an example of how bad things may go.
I was very good at this before I married.
Now..the hubby had most of the control and expenses.
He's clever too though.
You know those who have little loose more when they loose everything.
Good pictures. Good reminder.

Felisol, people "who have little loose more when they loose everything" was the reason I am such a good gambler. I couldn't afford to lose at all.
Of course I don't gamble even a little bit, not even lottery tickets anymore.
