The Letter "Q" ~~ Rev 04 - Weekend Roundup and Reflections
(THE SEVENTEENTH LETTER FOR THIS SERIES)
- the Letter "Q" Prompts are:
(A) Starts with the Letter "Q"; (B) A Favorite;
(C) "Q" for '"Q"uite' (Tom's choice); and (D) Reflections
Quince Recipes googled, click here
(B) A Favorite: This Wednesday, October 30, is my birthday. It's a big one in that I've lived so long but more so that the number does not end in zero or five.
Still I might run away. I have done that before and Mrs. Jim always comes with me.
(C) "Q" for '"Q"uiet' (Tom's choice): Shhh!!!
Please be Quiet, dogs are sleeping. Both of these dogs of ours are playing and sleeping NOW in Doggie Heaven.
To read about Adi and Katrin, Beagle and Toy Poodle, start by clicking here.
(D) Reflections: Window facing the Parking Lot at our local McDonald's.
(E) A Lagniappe for you: A couple of Halloween Holiday Items I wouldn't want you to miss. The Blue Pumpkins were for sale at our local Kroger Store and the cute Scare Crow was at our church lobby for a photo op for families.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
My Two Questions (you can answer just one if you'd like):
1. Does the little celebration at Halloween make you feel happier? If not, why not? Yes. It reminds me of the time that I went Trick or Treating with my kids. Now it's grandkids and greats but someone else goes with them.
2. What is the Whacky Halloween item that you have seen, or own? Mine is actually cute, a couple of seedy scare crow folk, man an wife.
Bonus Questions:
1. What is your favorite "Q" word? "Quaint" is my favorite "Q" word because I love going to antique stores where perhaps I will find something old to add to my collection. An old toy, preferably some with wheels. Or a cup to add to my Texas Bluebonnet Cup collection.
2. What are your thoughts about Scare Crows? I always wanted to make a real one but never got the job done.

~~ Friday’s Hunt v.4.20 -- "T" is for ...
(1) Starts with T;
(3) Paper
(1) Starts with "T": "The BIG Day" -- That was my Birthday, we went to the beach in Antigua. Neither of us had brought a bathing suit so no swimming for us.
You can see some of the beach in the pictures below.
This picture of me on the right isn't in Antigua, it was taken nine (9) days later in Jamaica.
(2) Black and white:
Don't walk there, Black and white sign says "big fine". But all was fine anyway. Also taken in Jamaica, Falmouth.
Also,
our Itinerary for
three back to back cruises
aboard the Regal Princess ship.
(3) Paper: All the "Paper(work)" was finished and Mrs. Jim walked smartly from the ship over to her bus which would take her to the airport. From there we flew to Houston (Texas). While we were gone they've been running temperatures similar to the Caribbean tropics but it sure does seem cooler to us.

~~ Friday’s Hunt v.2.18 -- "R" is for ...
Since I had started on this last Thursday (we left on Friday and were still on the road back Sunday evening) I will go ahead and post. Just can't sign in for Teresa.
I will post a few birthday pictures next week. Saturday night we attended Sandy Patty's final U.S. tour at Baton Rouge. It was good, uplifting, and LOUD!
Friday's Hunt for the week of October 28th: (1) Starts with "R"; (2) Week's Favorite; and (3) Black and/or Orange.
(1) Starts with "R": "Red" starts with "R".
This turned out to fill out papers and to drink this solution a half hour before my appointment. It looked like water but had electrolytes and other stuff.
I was asked whether I wanted 'peach tea' or 'lemonade'. I opted for lemonade. That made drinking it easier.
The marking on the bottom? I was to save that part until I had an IV Port placed in my arm.
I should get results tomorrow from the hospital (only 20 minutes away). Then I will call my GP doctor and after that another specialist who is looking for me to come in for a visit and a procedure.
(3) Black and/or Orange: This was a yard decoration on KP's street. We see lots of Orange and matching colors when we walk her to or from school. Come November 1st, they will all be gone.
The Fine Print: (the signing in part is what I missed. You can click on the list to visit those who did get finished before the teacher's deadline (late papers not accepted).

~~ Friday’s Hunt v.2.15 -- "O" is for ...
(1) Starts with "O": "Oh!!" I made a terrible mistake, I was thinking all week long that this would be 'starts with "P".' Guess the "Oh" might could do. But I looked around my computer and found three fairly decent posting. (I don't throw things away.)
"O" is for Olympics. Do you remember the 2014 Olympics when in February the artist responsible for this Olympic Ring display made a big mistake and consequently it was said that because he felt so badly committed suicide? Not true according to Buzzfeed dot com (link).
"O" is for Oil. Our Houston is the Oil Capital of the United States, probably of the world. But back in the 60's people were discovering that Oil could be found in some of the less developed countries.Tomorrow, Saturday, the dealer will begin repairs, but not on the offending fuel pump yet (I don't really the symptoms we had experienced could be fuel pump related, but ... it will get fixed). But meantime, during the "courtesy checkout" oil leaks were discovered. That involves massive gasket replacement and the pulling of the engine.
We borrowed a loan car to go to Mrs. Jim's family reunion last weekend but tomorrow we will pick up a loaner for the duration. My 1998 Mustang is 18 years old and runs good, 109K miles on it, but at times we still in our retired life are in the need of two cars.
Oh yes, the warranty covers it all except an oil filter and needed cabin and air filters, to the tune, GM's, of $5215.
(3) Eyes: Ms. Old Maid is on the look out for a good husband, even at her older age. Here she is ogling someone big time with her perky eye. The other relates information, the perky eye attracts. (Somehow this is brimming with "O" words.)
The picture above shows the aftermath at our able after my loss at the Old Maid game. Mrs. Jim and I played with KP. Old Maid is one of her favorite games. (Tomorrow she, now seven, is playing soccer.)

My Five Things Today

[One] These kittens were running "wild" atop the little mountain at a monastery stop in Meteora, Greece.
Our ship was docked in Volos, Greece, and we had bussed up to here. Oh, yes, there was a little climb for visiting these.
