Bop introduction - a Poem for dVerse Bop MTB

My small box

My little smal box
Came crackers inside
Ate all the crackers
Over six months
Breakfast lunch or sup
Kitchen on one wall

I found a box and put a room inside

In soup or a snack
Parties and our meals
Graduation kids
Loved those brown sweeties
Cornered caps and gowns
Poems they'd learned
Sweated and written
Porches 'nother wall

I found a box and put a room inside

Guests had left their marks
Floor scattered around
Erasers not found
Classes dropped before
Was no sweeping floor
Walls memories swabbed

I found a box and put a room inside

Letter "R" -- Friday's Weekend Roundup 12 and Reflections and/or Street/Candid Captures

This Week's Prompts Starts with "R." A Favorite. Tom's request, "R"epeat. and For James, Reflections and/or Street/Candid Captures
 _ _ _ _

Starts with "R":  "Return" starts with "R".  Giant Panda Bears will return to a U.S. zoo this summer.

"Yun Chuan is almost 5 years old and is the grandson of Bai Yun, who lived at the San Diego Zoo for 23 years, the zoo said in a news release. His name is a combination of his grandmother's and the province where he came from, Chuan.

Xin Bao is almost four years old and, like Yun Chuan, was born at China's Wolong Shenshuping Panda Base. The name Xin Bao means "new treasure of prosperity and abundance," and the zoo describes her as "a gentle and witty introvert with a sweet round face and big ears."
They will be coming in mid-summer to the San Diego Zoo on loan, as they all we had that we had sent back to China.

Starts with "R":   Revolve and Revolving start with "R".  I know Walmart does not have Revolving doors, theirs are Automatic.  Target has Revolving doors.

A Favorite:    A few years ago Mrs. Jim and I drove down to the 445-acre (1.80 km²) Herman Park (link 01)(link 02).

Everyone was proud of the new Railroad installation, the Herman Park Train. We hadn't ridden this one but sure did ride the other one, a lot. Kids and grandkids all liked it when they were young. Mrs. Jim and BP rode that old one just once.

Tom's request, "Repeat":   This single picture comic strip Repeatedly comes up with something funny but this one is in poor taste besides being ridiculous.

For James, Reflections and/or Street/Candid Captures:  Not sure where we were, seems very familiar as we walked the arc street above.

Letter "Q" -- Friday's Weekend Roundup 12 and Reflections and/or Street/Candid Captures

This Week's Prompts: Starts with "Q." A Favorite. For Tom, "Q"uite". For James, Reflections and/or Street/Candid Captures.
 _ _ _ _

Starts with "Q":  This Canaille was quietly getting ready for blooming.  It is the first flower this spring where a plant that has been cut to the ground has blossoms.

The rabbits living around here have nibbled on some ends when they were more tender.

A Favorite: The Canaille is my Favorite because my father had canailles all around his converted office up in Nebraska.

Those are his canailles around the smaller building. It was converted from a baby chicken brooding house into an office for his seed corn business.  There is a yard light on top of the pole, yes there is not a street, it was sitting in our farmyard. I slept on the front porch behind the hedge.

I grew up in the house sitting in the back.  It was a two bedroom, four room, two structure built around 1900 and moved to our family farm in 1920.  The new owner had bulldozed it down and has burned the rubble.

Read more about that here.

For James, Reflections and/or Street/Candid Captures The Guadalpe River is great for rafting. I'm not sure why the picture came out so striated.

For Tom, "Quite":  This is one is a spot where the river runs Quite smoothly but there are rapids along its route at other places. You can read more about the house and my growing up here.

For Tom, "Pipe":  My 1974 Mustang II has two exhaust Pipes, and two singing mufflers.  It is 50 years old this year, I've registered it as a "Classic car" and found a set of 1974 license plates for it.  It was Mom's car and has only 67K miles on it.

I am going to have to sell it when we downsize, want to buy it?

Here, we took it to Huntsville, Texas for gas.  This station has gas without Ethenyl.

Letter "O" - This Week's Prompts: Starts with "O." A Favorite. For Tom, "O"ver". For James, Reflections and/or Street/Candid Captures.
_ _ _ _

Starts with "O"O.J.Simpson died yesterday from having cancer.  I watched his get away chase real time, it went on and on, about 27 minutes.  He was driving a white Bronco Ford.  The world was surprised that he was found not guilty of murder of his wife.

See the chase here,

Open Door to our hallway bath

A FavoriteOpen Door, I don't know why.  I guess because it's there.

For Tom, "Over": It's the song, a Golden  Oldie, a 60's or 70's.  The Dave Clark group singing "Over and Over", you might remember.

Listen, watch the chase, here:

Letter "N" - This Week's Prompts: Starts with "N." A Favorite. For Tom, "N"ice". For James, Reflections and/or Street/Candid Captures.

P
.
Adi is posing with her aunt and uncle for a goodbye picture. We enjoyed staying with Lois and Jim (my sister and bro-in-law). You have seen most of our local tours. From August 2, 2006 post,
https://jimmiehov.blogspot.com/2006/08/we-say-goodbye-to-iowa-and-goodbye-to.html

Starts with "N":  Now soon I need to see my sister, haven't seen or visited with her, other that messages on the cell phone for probably nine years when she came here.  Next should be my turn.

But I may have waited too long, the ladies in my life think I am too old at 90 to drive that far anymore.  Southwest is having a $39 per flight sale now close like Memphis, $80 to Iowa where Lois lives.  But I wouldn't drive straight through all the way one, up or down, but would and stop and see/visit my cousin in Arkansas who is a couple of years later than my age.

A Favorite: New Driver of my latest Antique?  Car that I got back in 2000 for my retirement present.  I would retire in 2001.  This is our younger granddaughter, now a high school freshman.

CSU April hurricane forecasts FOX Weather©
For Tom, "Nice"Nice to know information, especially for us along the Gulf of Mexico coast.

James, Reflections
and/or Street/Candid Captures:  Seems I might have posted before.  Not sure where is located but feel it's close to our home, southwest of our home.  Sorry 'bout that.

Letter "M" -- Friday's Weekend Roundup 12 and Reflections and/or Street/Candid Captures

Letter "M" - This Week's Prompts: Starts with "M." A Favorite. For Tom, "M"ild". For James, Reflections and/or Street/Candid Captures.
 _ _ _ _

Pinterest.co.uk

Starts with "M":   Milk is my "M" word for this go round.  This picture is a Brown Swiss Milk Cow with the same features as my FFA, Future Farmers of America, project for my junior and senior Ag activity and class.

We took her home from a calf auction when she was small, just a few months old.  That was for my sophomore year, I fed and cared for her, she was a pretty young heifer at summer break time. By graduation time next spring she was a good Milk Cow.  We separated her from her little calf the day it was born, and she joined our small Milk Herd.

All school FFA animals at our school must have been named.  Guess the name I gave the calf.  Now highlight the next blank space to see if you guessed right.

I named her "Brownie".

The cream we separated away from the Milk and sold it to the local creamery.  My cow's Milk was rich with cream.

A Favorite:   Monster Jam (we didn't get to see)

For Tom, "Mild":  1947, who all can remember, Pall Mall cigarettes slogan, ". . . and they are "Mild."  I do.

For James, Reflections and/or Street/Candid Captures:  Mother and daughter.  Now what?

Letter "L" -- Friday's Weekend Roundup 12 and Reflections and/or Street/Candid

HAPPY EASTER SUNDAY!!

He is risen!!
He is risen indeed!!!

Captures Letter "L" - This Week's Prompts: Starts with "K." A Favorite. For Tom, "L"ake". For James, Reflections and/or Street/Candid Captures.

"
"Get up close with Animals at Louisiana Global Wildlife Center,"
"Only in Your State" magazine, 3/22/2024, Louisiana issue (URL)

Starts with "L"Love starts with "L".  Is there such a thing as Parental Love

Texas Bluebonnets are the Texas State Flower

A FavoriteLady Bird Johnson was my Favorite First Lady.  284 acres of The Johnson Texas farm was made into an open to the public, Lady Bird Johnson Wildlife Center.  It is now a state botanic garden and arboretum with over 10,000 different species of wildflowers from all over Texas.  It was featured on the March 2024 issue of the Southern Living Magazine, page 88 and ff.

More than 240,000 visitors have been coming every year.  Mrs. Jim and I took my parents from Nebraska there in the 1980's, They, retired former farmers, were thoroughly impressed.  I think my dad, generally a Republican voted for him, same as our family here in Texas.

For Tom, "
Lake" and For James, Reflections and/or Street/Candid Captures:   This Lake find was at the Northlake Nature Center at Manderville, Louisiana (URL).  Mrs. Jim is from Louisiana.

A Lagniappe:  Two Love Birds

A Sad Update!!  A squirrel has eaten these birds' eggs, robbed from their nest; so they have no reason to stay here.  They are headed further north in their migratory journey up from Central America.
