This much smaller sprinkler is pleasing the kids in Gdańsk, Poland (link). We were there last Summer, 2010 for a very nice day in this historic old city. I would recommend that you go there if you take a Baltic cruise.

LIG — Monday Morning — Labor Day Weekend — Ruby (Red) Tuesday
Monday morning view from our back porch
All was peaceful out here this morning when I let the dogs out. You can see Adi coming back home here on the right.Only the soft buzzing of a distant small plane in the air could be heard. I am sure I could have heard birds singing and chirping were it not for the plane. Which plane by the way I never did see.

Life has been good (LIG-Life is Good) this weekend. My all day Saturday preparation for the Sunday school lesson paid off, I think. It was the opening lesson for a series in Ephesians which will last for three months.Life got better after church when we were able to chat with the kids in London on Skype.
KP waited up for us, they are six hours ahead of Texas Time. She is walking pretty good now and has a new push toy to help her with that. It is complete with flashing lights and a telephone. She doesn't steer it too good yet so Mom, Dad, and Sister all help here get it straight when it runs into a wall.
I just had a horrible thought! I hope she won't be a bad driver. It runs in the family. Her Aunt Susie has even run over a telephone booth, dragging a lady around with it going through a parking lot. All of the kids remember that. Thank Goodness it was before the days of prolific lawsuits!
Life stayed good still after talking with the kids.On the way home from eating with daughter, Susie, her hubby, Anthony, and his mom, Rita, we stopped for this pie. Pie was for supper. Enough calories there so we didn't even need a sandwich.
Susie had come to play her music to Chapter One of Ephesians for my class. Anthony read the Chapter one while she played. You can listen to her music here.
LIG for me feet also. I have a new pair of tenny shoes too (click for picture). They are Air Nike's Running shoes. I don't run any more but they are the next best thing I could find besides my old Reebok's . They were cross training shoes.
Would believe that my old shoes (picture) lasted over four years even though I wore them all the time. All the time that is when I wasn't barefooted or wearing flip flops.
To keep me honest, here is my Ruby (Red) Tuesday picture from Copenhagen.

But life will be good still. Shopping is in order with Mrs. Jim and supper at Luby's with the Sunday school class this (Monday) evening.

Shopping 101 — Six Word Saturday
(my six words)
Mrs. Jim is shopping today. Most all clothing items under $100 are sales tax (8.25%) free. So are school supply items under $100. I guess a used laptop might sell for that. So would a pencil sharpener for sure. There is no total limit, just per each item. This happens every year just before school starts.
Now we go window shopping with Jim. Pictures from our Copenhagen visit.
My last six words as she pulled out of the driveway:
"If you can't decide, buy it."
Mrs. Jim is a very frugal shopper. If she can't decide usually she doesn't buy it. Then when she gets home she wishes a little that she had bought the whatever. So now she needs some new things.
The last I talked with her she was in Macy's.
I am going out now. Adi needs a new collar. I might buy myself a pair of training shoes and a pair of golfing shorts.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Falling down in an escalator that's going up — MidWeek Blues —
First off, that doesn't sound easy, does it? These are long escalators. Here we are looking at approximately the bottom half, perhaps a little more.
Second thing falling down an up escaltor means it's hard to hit bottom to stop falling. We were going up to get out of the London Metro near Karen's home. You can see the posters along the side advertising theatre productions. They are hard to read as a person goes by them pretty fast.
Third, older people should pay attention to what they are doing. The others, Karen, Billy, and Mrs. Jim, had me interested in one advertisement in particular, for a children's play that advertised "Room on the Broom." I could never see it as we would pass by quickly; almost we were past before they could even tell me.
Fourth, for sure don't be taking pictrures while riding. This time there was one across on the going down side. I couldn't find it as I had no idea of what I was looking for. Bright idea! I would take a picture then enlarge it when I got to Karen's. It was supposed to be a cute poster.
Fifth, it really isn't very hard to do. Since the going down side was on my left, I had to turn in that direction. I had my camera pointed over in that direction. That necessitated holding on lightly to the rubber rail with my left hand. Somehow I lost my balance and fell backwards.
Sixth, falling backwards going up an escalator doesn't get a person anywhere very fast. I sort of tumbled in place I was told. Everything I tried to grab hold of to help stand was always whisking along going backwards, down.
Finally I was able to grab and hold again the rubber rail which was moving in my direction, up. A lady who was following me up asked if I was alright when we got up. And Karen, Billy, and Mrs. Jim were concerned as well.
Here is a picture of what my foot looked like the next day. It was very sore and hurt whenever I leaned forward on it.Most of the pain was centered around my big and next toe. It is still swollen a little now. I fell on July 17.
On the left you can see what it looked like about a week or so later.No, the fall didn't weld my toes two and three together at the bottom. I am slightly web toed and was from birth.
Moral of the story is
HOLD ON TIGHTLY TO THE RAILINGS OF THE ESCALATORS.

Home now!
Mrs. Jim has just experienced one of the most enjoyable times of her life. Now she is home.From July 13 until August 3 she was with our youngest grandchild, KP, for every day. Some of those pictures have already been posted. You can scroll down.
Pictured on the right she and KP have been visiting Buckingham Palace. There are now times of the year it is opened for public tours.
KP is now one year old and is completely enjoyable. KP came to live in London with her Mom, Dad, and BP. Their stay will be at least for two years if thing go according to plan. We will miss all of them.
Mrs. Jim had a six week absence. All but thirteen (13) days were spent in London, U.K. Two days were in Copenhagen, Denmark, and eleven days on the Star Princess cruising in the Baltic Sea. I came home earlier, on July 20.
Relating to homecoming, my current post on my other blog is a little haiku poem about a sad homecoming (link).

Blue seas of Norway — MidWeek Blues — Oslo, Norway

Scenes from aboard ship. The sun didn't set until after 10:00 PM. I was offered a second plate of lobster and shrimp. Do you think I took it? Of course I did!
There is a lot more to do in Oslo, we did some more. It is a beautiful city.
People here were watching the bridge in the picture below. It links Denmark and Sweeden. (link) Our ship is one of the larger ones and there wasn't very much clearance. It gave me a glimpse into the feelings of an 18-wheeler driver going under a low highway bridge. We made it.

Octopus is currently the world's ninth largest super yacht, owned by Paul Allen, the co-founder of Microsoft, to whom she was delivered in 2003. Octopus is the third largest super yacht that is not owned by a head of state, measuring 414 feet (126 m), and at the time it was built, was believed to be the biggest such yacht.
It carries two helicopters on board. (link)
