Letter "H" -- Weekend Roundup and Reflections
(2) What is your favorite Word starting with "H"? Mine today will be "Happy". I've used it a lot here today. An old saying, "If the wife isn't happy then nobody is."
(3) Anything else you were reminded of here that you would like to tell about?

Weekend Roundup -- 26 -18(b) (for letter "Z") and Reflection(s) too
The 52nd issue of Weekend Roundup for this year..:
A Word with a "Z";
A Favorite;
"ZZZ" as in sleepy; and
Reflection(s):
(Picture to the right is of a Zippy Fairy riding down from the furniture top on a Zip Line.)
(1.a) A Word with a "Z": Breeze has a "Z" in it. Here we were docked at Ushuaia down at the bottom of the world (Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego Province, Argentina) (Link), just above Antarctica. The wind was blowing hard, the breezes were so bad that we could not lift anchor until the next morning to sail away.
(note the reflection in the window)
(1.b) A Word with two "Z's": Pizza has two "Z's".
(1.c) Another Word with a "Z": Mazada has a "Z", this car also has a dent in the rear.
(1.d) Then in our part of Texas, the Texas Gulf Coastal Plain, there's always the mudder who go mudding in the rice fields and bogs. This Chevy Z-71 is mud from top to bottom.
(2) A Favorite: I love to find old Zombie Trees along the roadside. Here my new to me Favorite was at our old haunt, Montgomery. Texas.
(3) "ZZZ" as in sleepy: While "the kid", our youngest of the six, was tucked away getting her "Z's" her fairy friend was riding the Zip Line in her dining room.
It just so happened that the mechanism got stuck and she had to spend the rest of her morning waiting for help. That was good for me. I could go by and snap a picture of the fairy in dress.
(4) Reflection(s): Our Katy Mills Mall, near the North exit. I can't remember exactly what I was taking, but I was impressed with the reflections in the many windows involved. Everything, including the floor seemed to reflect something it was seeing.
(Also note the reflection in the window of our life boat across from my first title, below the first set of South Sea pictures above.)

Weekend Roundup -- 24 -18(b) (for letter "X")
1. A Word with an "X."
2. A Favorite.
3. Looks like "X."
4. Reflection(s).
1. A Word with an "X." Lexus has an "X" in it. This picture of the red Lexus also has two Reflections, one of us in the back of the Lexus and the other in the Rear View Mirror of our car.
2. A Favorite. This little BMW was in the Mall where we Xmas Shopped today. It is a 231 something. Perfect for teens or retired people who won't be going far away from home. In a few years I may look for a Certified Used BMW like this.
3. Looks like "X". TBD here
4. Reflection(s): This was me , a Selfie(??), in the side of the Red Lexus parked at the Library yesterday. Not very good, it would have been better had I had the top down on my old 1998 Mustang GT Convertible.

Weekend Roundup -- 23 -18(b) (for letter "W")
The week's prompts:
(1) Starts with "W"; (2) A Favorite; (3) Weather; and (4) Reflections
(1) Starts with "W": What starts with "W". So does Who. And so What is this and Who will be eating it? It is Friday Night Supper at Jim's house and Mrs. Jim will have Popcorn. I will be eating Sardines and Crackers.
A while later I also had a Plum, Mrs. Jim declined one of those.
(2) A Favorite (and a Reflection): We were leaving the Houston (Texas) Medical Center for home. In rush hour traffic we made it back in a little over a half hour by taking the Westpark Tollway.
The above picture doesn't do justice to the Sunset, it was gorgeous. I chose it over the smaller one because it shows some of the city lights in the distance. Note the Reflection of the Sunset and of the tail lights of the cars ahead. Mrs. Jim was glad when I put the camera back into the armrest niche. [click on either picture for a larger size]
(3) Weather: Garth Brooks (CW male singer) played to 84,000 folk in the Notre Dame (college) stadium but it rained and snowed and the wind blew. It was sold out for the Saturday night performance, December 1. I watched it tonight, Sunday the 2nd in my warm living room on CBS TV. As reported on the "Indy Star" newspaper, https://www.indystar.com/story/entertainment/music/2018/10/21/garth-brooks-navigates-harsh-weather-tv-demands-notre-dame-stadium/1647096002/
(4) Reflections (see also the one on the hood of the car I was driving into the Sunset above): The photo on the left is of the casket detail waiting by the casket car of the train would carry the body of President George H W Bush up to College Station for burial. The parking lot beside the rail car was wet as it was raining slightly.
On the right is shown the casket inside the casket car through the newly installed Plexiglas window. Some of our friends found places beside the tracks north of town (Houston) to wave to the train as it passed. We had considered doing that but decided that the wet would not be good for Mrs. Jim''s foot which was still recovering from her bunion surgery [these pictures were taken off our TV).

Weekend Roundup -- 22 -18(b) (for letter "V")
The week's prompts: (1) Starts with "V"; (2) A Favorite; (3) Vast
(1) Starts with "V": Vacation starts with "V". When I was teaching I would say that the best part of teaching was Vacation. First Summer Vacation, then Christmas Break, Spring Break, followed by the U.S. Postal Holidays.
The picture above is of Mrs. Jim and another lady finishing up our room for Third Grade Vacation Bible School, aka "VBS". We had five ladies, two teenage boys, a teen girl, and me for as leaders for four mornings. Our class had 21 kids, some classes had more or less. They were lettered from "A" to "J", if they averaged 21 per class that would be 210 third graders enrolled.
The Yellow Things on the wall are paper plates representing windows on our Pirate Ship (the theme of the VBS this year). Every plate had a child or teacher's picture, as if looking out the boat. My picture is at right [click any for larger size].
Our church is the 1463 Campus of the Second Baptist Church of Houston, Texas. We have six campuses plus a TV Campus.
(2) A Favorite:
I call this Very Pretty picture "Sunrise on the Prairie." It is a drawing by one of our third grade girls. Picasso, eat your heart out. You can give it a name, please. After naming it you can highlight the area between my apostrophes to see my thoughts. It is not yet a final decision.
I may frame a larger size picture for my study. It would be a nice remembrance of VBS, perhaps also Mrs. Jim's and my yellow paper plates with our pictures still glued in.
(3) Vast: This View taken tonight from the bow of the Sun Princess shows the Vastness of the Tasman Sea.
We sailed this sea in January, 2014, going to Sydney, Australia, via Wellborn after visiting Tasmania. Our cruise started in Auckland, New Zealand, and visited on the Eastern Shore, then headed to Tasmania. [ https://jimmiehov.blogspot.com/search?q=Kangaroo The first picture should be of Mrs. Jim feeding a Kangaroo. ]
You can see the view by the bridge camera of each Princess ship by clicking here, https://www.princess.com/bridgecams/?shipCode=pa
