My Christmas tree blog is up now
Starts with "W": Wheelbarrow, from our home in Texas, 23 years, then we moved to our retirement home in 1999. The wheelbarrow didn't make the move though. I had loaned it to the neighbor and it was mistreated.
First they left it out several days, under an eve and it got wet and since in the shad didn't dry. But when they returned it, besides being rusty, the front wheel was broken, and the tire was flat. It got given to the heavy trash man and I've never had a wheelbarrow since.
A Favorite: My home from birth until I left home for college. Note the buildings. Dad kept them painted white very well. I was born in the house, it had a living room, a kitchen with eating table space, and two bedrooms.
When my sister was born, I was five. She got my room, and I was to sleep on the front porch, you can see the roof. Grandpa and Dad screened it and put storm windows on. No heat nor air conditioning. Frost would be on my blanket in the cold Nebraska winters. I could have changed to sleeping in the living room, heated, but I declined.
The smaller white building in front was the baby chicken growing house. When the folks quite raising chickens, Dad used it for an office for his seed corn business. That is the water cistern to the left and behind. Above ground, it would not have to be pumped.
The new owner of the farm bulldozed the house down and other outbuildings except for the barn and granaries. I'm not sure about the office. There was a yard light on top of that pool beside the office. The tall flowers were canailles.
Tom's choice, "White": My 1974 Dodge Convertible was white. It got totaled when my son-in-law's mechanic, drunk, was driving it, "testing".

Letter "M" -- Friday's Weekend Roundup 11 and Reflections and-or Street/Candid Captures
This Week's Prompts: Starts with "M.", A Favorite, "M"ini, and Street/Reflections
What do she and our family have in common?

The young lady is 6 feet 4. Her 49 inch legs, from thigh to toe, may set a world record. For sure for Houston they did and probably are a record in Texas also. Things are bigger in Texas.
For sure too she would intimidate me if we were alone in an elevator. Ladies who are taller than me worry me.
Street/Reflections: Our 2012-13 New Zealand Princes cruise ended up with us being in Sydney, Aus. We had a wonderful three and a half days there.

Starts with "M": "Minutes" to get downtown Houston in a morning with a average good traffic. We live in Katy on the left, I-10 with 44 Minutes. "Houston is the fourth larges city in the United States."
A Favorite: Houston Methodist Hospital West front entrance, scale model. Many nice cars, several old, toy cars. Perhaps I should will them mine, 27 or eight, plus a motorcycle, last count.
"Mini": Mini Skirts were the rage long ago, back then ladies liked to show off their pretty long legs. (even Mrs. Jim had one).

Letter "H" -- -- Weekend Roundup and Street/Reflections
THE EIGHTH LETTER FOR THIS SERIES - The Letter "H" Prompts are: (A) Starts with the Letter "H"; (B) "Half" (Tom's Choice); (C) A Favorite; (D) Street/Reflections; and (E) A Lagniappe.

(A) Starts with the Letter "H": House starts with "H", this She Shed House is in a friend's neighbor's back yard, the doors and window were on the other side.
(B) "Half" (Tom's Choice): We had eaten Half of the chocolate pie that my sister, Lois, had made from scratch, it was sooo good.
But in getting the leftover pie from the refrigerator it slipped and fell and landed upside down on the floor . Only the top Half was on the floor, the méringue, and she could scrape that off. The bottom Half that was left was delicious. (my sister's (link here)
(C) A Favorite: One of my three Favorite BILs, Dan (I only have three BILs). He had a triple Heart bypass three days ago and was about ready to go home that afternoon. He is doing well now although he did have to go back for the doctors to get his Heart beating in regular rhythm. That is fine now also, the surgery was a month ago and the doctor okayed him to drive yesterday.
(D) Street/Reflections: The House Lights Reflected in my bowl of lobster bisque. This was the first serving in my free four course lunch.

THE TWENTY-FOURTH LETTER FOR THIS SERIES

(A) The Letter "X": Today "X" is for "Crossing". Like the signs at Railroad Crossings. I'm at the crossing, which way do I want to go? 
(B) "eXtra Special" (Tom's Choice): "Extra, Extra, Special . . . !"

(C) A Favorite: The Worst Selfie I've ever taken.
October 3, 2019, in South Africa outside Cape Town, we were headed to a picnic lunch at a winery. The food was super, a five course lunch, but forgettable. Guess I should have looked at the other pictures for a hint.
(D) Street/Reflections: A Walk Picture in the flood prevention/retention depression beside the mailboxes.
(E) A Lagniappe. Walmart "Wall of Honor" for Memorial Day. I took it "Specially" for last week's "W" post. But I did otherwise on the posting side of my plan for it.
Note: You can tell there is more stuff to tell and show for "W's" than for "X's". Too many for one post, even some left for next time.

The Letter "F" ~~ Rev 04 - Weekend Roundup and Reflections
The 32nd issue of Weekend Roundup for this year... (THE SIXTH LETTER FOR THIS SERIES)
- the Letter "F" Prompts are:
(A) Starts with the Letter "F"; (B) A Favorite; (C) "F" for "Full" (Tom's choice); and (D) Reflections.
(1) Fruit starts with the letter "F". This is a small Fruit plate/basket that KP served me at the Children's Museum Café (see below, Favorite).
You are seeing two strawberries, a piece of French style Cherry Pie, and a slice of Watermelon.
(2) Figs also start with the letter "F". I like Figs raw but I like them better as a Fig Preserve that I can spread onto bakery or bread items.
In the picture you are seeing our daughter's appetizers of the 'perfect figs' from Central Market. She slipped them and put them on a goat cheese bed atop thin slices German rye bread. The final touch was pour of Bonne Mamam Honey. Really good, I almost overdosed.
I found out forty years ago that I DO NOT have a green thumb. I planted two Fig trees, the first the Southwestern Bell installer ran over it with his tractor digger and broke it to the ground. The second little tree died of natural or unnatural causes, we did not do an autopsy.
(B) A Favorite: Yesterday we visited the Houston Children's Museum branch at Sugar Land, Texas. KP was hosting, Mrs. Jim had a Taco but she had brought in her own Diet Coke from MacDonald's where we had a larger lunch (an Egg McMuffin sandwich for each).
KP is our youngest grandchild. This is her Favorite children's museum, even over the larger Houston Children's Museum in the Museum District of Houston. Although smaller, this one is less crowded also.
(C) "F" for "Full" (Tom's choice): I was an engineer with Ford Aerospace working at NASA Houston with other engineers for 17 years.
The engineer joke says "The difference between Cowboys and Engineers is where to find the manure on their boots. The cowboys have manure on the outside, the engineers' boots are Full of it on the inside."
Accountants and lawyers jokes are even more stupid.
(D) Reflections: In the picture you are seeing a Reflection of a pretty street in Bellaire, Texas. The business had been a barber shop and hair styling salon. The note in the window says they will not be open for business until further notice.

My Two Questions for this week (you can answer just one if you wish):
1. Do your grandchildren (children if you are young enough to have some smaller ones or can still remember that) like going to Museums? My two oldest granddaughters went to Europe with us when each of them was sixteen. Both very quickly got tired of all the Museums we would visit .
2. What is your taste preference towards Figs? At times they are my favorite fruit.

Weekend Roundup -- 25 -18(b) (for letter "Y") and Reflection(s) too
The 51st issue of Weekend Roundup for this year..:

4. Reflection(s).
1. A Word with a "Y": The Word, Hilly, has a "Y". See too in the foreground a large tractor trailer with a Yellow Cabbed tractor truck.
2. A Favorite: A Yellow School Bus in the FOG waiting for traffic.
3. "Y"ellow: In Macy's day before we found all these Mixers, a couple were Yellow.
A Yellow Breasted Partridge My Egg McMuffin has a Yellow Yolk
and three Yellow Chickens. and Cheese with a thin sausage patty.
Red elves always carry a Yellow Pencil.
They were taught that way in school.
4. Reflection(s): Many boats in the Harbor, all leaving their reflection.
5. "X" shaped object that I couldn't find for an "X" Object last week. This one was hanging from the ceiling on the second floor of our local Macy store just beyond the top of the escalator.

Weekend Roundup -- 23 -18(b) (for letter "W")
The 49th issue of Weekend Roundup for this year..
The week's prompts:
(1) Starts with "W"; (2) A Favorite; (3) Weather; and (4) Reflections
(1) Starts with "W": What starts with "W". So does Who. And so What is this and Who will be eating it? It is Friday Night Supper at Jim's house and Mrs. Jim will have Popcorn. I will be eating Sardines and Crackers.
A while later I also had a Plum, Mrs. Jim declined one of those.
(2) A Favorite (and a Reflection): We were leaving the Houston (Texas) Medical Center for home. In rush hour traffic we made it back in a little over a half hour by taking the Westpark Tollway.
The above picture doesn't do justice to the Sunset, it was gorgeous. I chose it over the smaller one because it shows some of the city lights in the distance. Note the Reflection of the Sunset and of the tail lights of the cars ahead. Mrs. Jim was glad when I put the camera back into the armrest niche. [click on either picture for a larger size]
(3) Weather: Garth Brooks (CW male singer) played to 84,000 folk in the Notre Dame (college) stadium but it rained and snowed and the wind blew. It was sold out for the Saturday night performance, December 1. I watched it tonight, Sunday the 2nd in my warm living room on CBS TV. As reported on the "Indy Star" newspaper, https://www.indystar.com/story/entertainment/music/2018/10/21/garth-brooks-navigates-harsh-weather-tv-demands-notre-dame-stadium/1647096002/
(4) Reflections (see also the one on the hood of the car I was driving into the Sunset above): The photo on the left is of the casket detail waiting by the casket car of the train would carry the body of President George H W Bush up to College Station for burial. The parking lot beside the rail car was wet as it was raining slightly.
On the right is shown the casket inside the casket car through the newly installed Plexiglas window. Some of our friends found places beside the tracks north of town (Houston) to wave to the train as it passed. We had considered doing that but decided that the wet would not be good for Mrs. Jim''s foot which was still recovering from her bunion surgery [these pictures were taken off our TV).
