Indigo — MidWeek Blues / My Alphabe-Thursday -- "I" -- Two Questions -- MidWeek Blues

.

"I" is for "Indigo" -- Indigo, Google link
I found these little wild flowers while I was looking for my lost ball over in the sideline weeds.  I don't know what kind of plant this was growing out there in the brush.
.
There was a brighter side to golf than loosing balls, like this pretty green you see below that sits across the pond.  I have also lost quite a few golf balls in this pond as you might imagine.

You can check out more Alphabe-Thursday 'I' assignments with Miss Jenny at the head of the class. You can find her here. You might even like to join us as we go through the alphabet, one letter per week.

And now for my Thursday Two Questions: (See Thursday Two Questions by Self Sagacity for more reading. You could also make your own by checking in at this link.)
...
Last week 's post was about Hush Puppies, either shoes or the fried kind to eat with fried fish. The responses were very interesting.
.
My Two Questions for this week (you can answer just one if you wish):
.

1. What is you favorite wild flowers?  Tell us a bit about your experience with them.

Texas has a lot of wild flowers.  The most common are blue bonnets, Indian paint brush, golden rod, and assorted yellow flowers.

2. What do you have that is indigo blue?
.
We also have quite a bit of indigo blue pottery, glass vases, and food dishes.

Bonus Question: What is your favorite outside activity?
You probably guessed that mine is playing golf.  Next would be going for long walks.  Before I developed all these knee problems I would run.  I liked running much better than golfing.   And before I sold my motorcycle I like riding that bike a whole lot, even better than the running (faster speeds for one thing so I could cover more ground/territory).

If you want to post a MidWeek Blues picture, go get directions from Rebecca by clicking on the logo picture on the right. She has a Mr. Linky and good directions . Just do what I did. Or do less. All she requires is a PICTURE WITH BLUE, you don't have to write.

I am a golfer also! It's the most frustrating game I've ever played!!!

The little flower is tradescantia, also known as spider worts. They are very lovely little flowers!

I find those little blue flowers
out in the forest behind my
house in the spring.. leave it to little Jim to incorporate Golf and little blue flowers in his letter "I"....
Nice post
Sandy

That's a spider wort. That is my favorite wild flower. I actually found them at a nursery and bought them so I could plant them in my garden. Love them.
My favorite outdoor activity (at this time of year 100+ degrees) is running. Running to the car and turning on the AC really fast! I love coming to visit your site and read all of the things you have to say!

sweet flowers. I have quilts from the 19th century with indigo blue in them.

1. I love mixed bouquets. Wild flowers are always great. Roses are my least favorite, but they were my mothers favorite.

2. I have a set of dishes that have many different colors and indigo blue is just one of the colors.

3. Oh this is a hard question and I'm going to surprise you with my answer. Boating is my favorite outside activity. Out on the water going to a destination. It's pure freedom.

Have a terrific day. :)

I will have to say Queen Anne's Lace is my favorite "weed" since my grass is crisping up but some "weed" named Queen Anne decided to grow in a patch of crisped grass

I've kept up with watering all my flowers etc but the lawn is on its own. Queen Anne growing in my dried up lawn has a message for us all ? Some things do better in hard situations than others ? Not sure...but it's a thought ?

I have some of those little flowers that popped up in my flower bed while I was gone on vacation. I'm glad to know the name from edenhills!

Hi Jim we went on a cruise and spent the whole day in Istanbul friend of our t.ook a cruise had to fly to Istanbul were there two days and then crises the Greek islands for a week that must be a great cruise too iyou
Ike I can find the cruise for you I be,I've it is something with crystal and I saw a few days ago that it is sale now Nd they Re very cheap because of last minutes. I hope I can read the words don.t look easy

I don't have a favourite wild flower. However I do love seeing those small white flowers( can't remember the name) of it.

1) We have lots of wild flowers in the yard. This include chicory, wild mustard, depforth pink, thistle, and many other that I do not know the names.

2) My candle holders are indigo, and that's all I can remember.

I love wild flowers and herbs and some of them more than others as they provide nutrition and healing. Dandelions are so pretty and I eat the greens. Queens Ann Lace is also edible and Creeping Charlie makes your skin incredibly soft...

I used to love volley ball, but now walking is enough.

Jim, I have a photo of spiderwort that my granddaughter took at Jekyll when we were on vacation. It's on my right sidebar.

I have always loved Queen Anne's lace. Did you know that it is a member of the carrot family??

Guess in the future I will be hunting for my golf ball amidst the wildflowers instead of in the washes and rocks of Tucson.

Hi Jim,
thanks for visiting...TWICE!!! To answer your question re the bike, it is a Honda ST1300...good all round rugged bike with a comfortable ride (and a fabulous driver!!!). The hubs has taken it to Mexico and to Canada and lots of long distance rides.

As for Patagonia, we were there in fall, but that particular bog with all the moss on it...it's always eerie like that in all seasons...just that the colors are a little different. It's a cool spot, though. Way south between Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales.

Have a great day and thanks for checking in.

Oh, by the way, indigo...love that color!

That's a good I word. I have nothing that is indingo blue. I have alot of pinks, purples, reds, whites, and oranges - no blue.
my favorite wild flowers are the ones I see while on my trail. I don't know their names. I love the way they just comfortably lie. They don't need anyone's approval to grow where they grow.

Hi Jim!

Lovely flower color!

We have lots of wild flowers in the back yard (dandelions, butercups & daisies!!)

Hope you're managing to stay cool in yr part of the world! Boiling here!!

Have a good weekend!

What a nice little surprise for you in the middle of a golf game. I love Virginia Bluebells, they are blue... :), the come in early spring when there is little else blooming and then they disappear til next year.

If I played golf, I'd spend the whole day looking for balls!

I have indigo bluejeans and indigo ink. And my favorite outdoor activity is swimming. And yours is golfing - right? sandie

I love poppies - orange, red, pink...however they come up, I love them.
I have indigo blue table linens, and my favourite outdoor activity is swimming.
