The Jim Bunch Eats (and eats) in Iowa

.
Generally the breakfast at Lois' was a fresh baked pastry, a poached egg (Karen and I like 'yolks hard'), and a drink.

Seated are Jim, Karen, and Jim W.(brother-in-law). On the table were blueberry muffins, eggs were just finishing up with their cooking.

At the Ox Yoke we ate off the 'lunch menu' I had a plate of ribs, as did Lois and Karen.

The Ox Yoke Inn Restaurant has been here since 1840. Nice going, they serve wonderful food.

What you don't see besides the ribs is all you can eat family style: cottage cheese; sauerkraut; mashed potatoes; gravy; and green beans. Afterwards some opted for coconut cream pie chosen from about a dozen different desserts.
.

When we were finished Lois suggested to Karen that she should see the women's rest room as it was different from most. So they both went while the men watched their purses.

[Jim W. didn't want to go with me, I didn't even ask him. You ought to try that sometime, ask a man to go the rest room with you. You will get some very strange looks. It just isn't a man thing to do.]

Upon leaving the men's room I asked Karen to come. She came to the hall, then I asked her to check to see if the ladies' room was empty so I could look at the pretties in there.

She said 'no way' and was leaving. Another lady overheard and said she would do it for me. Nobody was in there so I peeked in. It was elegant, lots of blue marble tile around the stalls and all.

I forgot to take a picture so you all can't see. The men's room was drab, Karen wouldn't even look in the door as a boy was leaving.

Had I taken the picture it would have been a candidate for my upcoming blog, toilets of the world.

A Visit with Sugar Daddy

.
Well, at least that's what his hat says. He is single (widowered) too.

In case you (
link to a looking person) are looking, there could be one drawback. You see he is ninety-six years old and not in perfect health. So he lives in the Hiawatha Care Center now.

And this is Cooper, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He is the mascot for the Hiawatha Care Center where my dad is now.

Cooper belongs to Chris Kramer, RN, Assistant Director of Nursing at the Center. Both Cooper and Chris are very likeable.
.

.
You might even say Cooper has a loving dispositon. Posted by Picasa
.
How about Karen?
.

Yes, Karen has a loving disposition too! In fact if Cooper turns up missing Chris should look for him some place around Houston, try Katy, Texas. Posted by Picasa

Grandpa is the reason we are here in Iowa. Karen and I came up to visit Dad (the Sugar Daddy hat guy) for about three days. We are staying here with Lois in Center Point.

Every evening we all go over to the truck stop and sit at McDonald's with our lap tops. Karen does work and e-mail, Lois does e-mail, researches for a digital camera, and plays games, and I do e-mail and blog writing and reading.

Did I mention that McDonalds and the whole truck stop have free wireless Internet? Posted by Picasa

McDonald's at the Truck Stop -- The Jim Bunch is just drinking this evening

Lois was taking the picture. The first day Lois didn't bring her computer. The free wireless is nice, and the only one in town.
.
Well, here I am at the Center Point Travel Plaza again. Regular gas today here is $2.20. Down the street a quarter mile it is $2.17.

With a 20 gallon empty tank that drive will save you sixty cents. I'll take this one and use the Internet while we are there.

I was getting gas when I took this picture last summer. Premium, our car drinks that, was $3.04 then.

What is lady laughing about? or, The Jim Bunch Eats Again

That's my sister, Lois. She is about to attempt to eat this whole sandwich.

Don't they feed pretty good here in these Iowa prisons?

Shown with Lois is a pork tenderloin sandwich from Joensy's in Center Point, Iowa!

I could only eat half of mine but it was sooooo good I really wanted to eat the whole thing too.

This is Karen after eating half a pork tenderloin sandwich.
Please note the ornaments on this tree,
they are pig shaped.

Joensy's Restaurant is located in Center Pont, Iowa. Their pork tenderloin sandwiches are the best I've had.

Lois (sister) says you can order them on a plate with mashed potatoes and white gravey too.

Maybe next time I'll have them that way for less calories because I will skip the bread.

Where is Jim?

 Posted by Picasa

Hint: Karen is here with me

.
Does this look like prison? Not yet, it's on the way though. We are in the Cincinnati (Kentucky) airport, Delta Royal Club Lounge.

They used 'tmobile' for Internet, it wouldn't work with my hp lap top. It did work with Karen's IBM.

Luke 2 (link):
4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.
5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.
6While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born,
7and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
