~~ Friday’s Hunt v.2.20 -- "T" is for ...

Friday's Hunt for the week of November 11th:  (1) Starts with "T"; (2) Week's Favorite; and   (3) Rule of Thirds.

(1) Starts with "T":  Model T Ford cars.  My friend John and his wife own these fine cars.  The pickup is a 1912 "T".  It started as a "T Bucket", a single seat roadster.  Most of these have been made into Hot Rods.  Back in their day one could order a kit to turn the car into a pickup.  This is one fine example, almost in original condition.

The other "T" Model Ford is an open touring car which dates from 1913.  John has it "Polished to a 'T'."

(2) Week's FavoriteFor Veteran's Day our second grader, KP, invited us to their school Honor Veterans Day Celebration Mrs. Jim and I went, as guests of KP.  We had about 130 Veterans and spouses.  A few were still on active duty.

Our agenda:
(A) Breakfast in the Library.  The Menu was scrambled eggs, crisp bacon, biscuits, fruit, and coffee.  The 5th grade chorus sang a song of appreciation for us.
(B) A Vets Day Celebration in the Auditorium.  Again we were serenaded, this time with our branch of service song.  I got to stand while one of the classes sang of the U.S. Army caissons rolling along. KP's second grade sang the Navy song.
(C) As a final touch we had a parade of the students walking with their guests.  Those having no parent or grandparent to invite sat along the wall by their class door and cheered us along.

(3) Rule of 'Thirds':  Oh, I thought you said the Rule of 'Birds'.

Well, since I have this picture, how about for the 'Rule of Thirds',
"One Third of these birds will poop on your car in any given day."

In honor of our Veterans:
From the Halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli; We fight our country's battles, in the air, on land, and sea; First to fight for right and freedom and to keep our honor clean; We are proud to claim the title of United States Marine!

Anchors Aweigh, my boys, Anchors Aweigh! Farewell to Foreign Shores, we sail at break of day-ay-ay-ay; Through our last night ashore, drink to the foam. Until we meet once more, here's wishing you a happy voyage home. (Navy)

Over hill, over dale as we hit the dusty trail, and the Caissons go rolling along. In and out, hear them shout, counter march and right about, and the Caissons go rolling along. Then it’s Hi! Hi! Hee! In the field artillery, shout out your numbers long and strong, for where’er you go you will always know that the Caissons go rolling along. (Army)

Off we go into the wild blue yonder, climbing high into the sun. Here they come zooming to meet our thunder at’em boy, give‘er the gun! Down we dive, spouting our flame from under, off with one helluva roar! We live in fame or go down in flame. Hey! Nothing can stop the U.S. Air Force!

From Aztec shore to Artic Zone, to Europe and Far East, The Flag is carried by our ships in times of war and peace; And never have we struck it yet, in spite of foemen’s might, who cheered our crew and cheered again for showing how to fight. (????)

We Salute and Thank our Veteran’s!
If tomorrow all the things were gone I worked for all my life and I had to start again with just my children and my wife, I thank my lucky stars to be living here today; "Cause the flag still stands for freedom and they can’t take that away. And I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free, and I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me, and I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today ‘cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land……
God Bless the U.S. A.!
Lee Greenwood
