Plants and flowers

This White Flower today is a Plumeria that was given to Mrs. Jim a couple of years ago.  At first it was just a stick, a cutting about ten inches long that was given to Mrs. Jim.

These flowers come from bulbs every spring.  They are Ginger plants, and the roots would be edible or good for seasoning.  We have never eaten them.  They are very easy to grow, plant and water.   I wish we had brought a few bulbs to plant when we moved to Katy.

Letter "B" -- Friday's Weekend Roundup 08 / Reflections and-or Street Captures

Tom's posting prompts, for This "Week's Prompts Starts with "B." A Favorite and "Berry"
    and
James' Reflections and or Street Photography

Starts with "B"My "B" this round is for Belly Dancer. I had a Belly Dancer's daughter in my class at the college.  Their daughter also danced, and she taught our Business Club, Phi Beta Lambda, a routine to do to the tune of "New York, New York."  We then had a performing entry that year in the Houdah Parade part of Mardi Gras in Galveston.  Houdah had many connections in the Business world and all entries were business, mostly ones for profit although we were nonprofit.

I was the club sponsor, seemingly-like forever, and that year we had the largest number of students ever, 98, I think.  I had our club withdraw from the Houdah parade stuff when it moved to Washington street and then had a new Budweiser Beer company for the sponsor.  We changed and had a Car Show instead, I knew the college wouldn't appreciate us in a Beer parade

The evening of the first night of our two-day stop at Istanbul we had some local talent to perform for us.  A singing and dancing group came to perform.  They were followed by the local Belly Dancer pictured above.  She was quite good.

A Favorite:  Going to the Beach used to be one of my Favorites.  Too old for that kind of fun, plus too hot to enjoy now also.

1946 Ford Woodies are still in my Favorites, this one was on page one of our May 2021 issue of my Trader Joe's "Fearless Flyer" monthly mailout.  I have been on the beaches of the Pacific, the Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean, and the Atlantic.  Actually, I've touched my toes in all the oceans of the world and most of the named seas.

Tom's choice, "Berry"Razzleberry Fruit Pie by Marie Callender is one of my favorite pies.  It has Blackberries and Raspberries but is called a Fruit pie because Apples are the next ingredient after Raspberries.

Reflections and/or Street Photos:  "Now where'd Billy go?"
Or "who's up in that tree?"
Your turn, please "______________________."
Please note the kids with Bikes.

A Lagniappe:  More from out Istanbul stop.  The carts are different ones selling different food items.  I like to eat off the street but here we did only at the MacDonald's, not counting KP's ice cream earlier at from a little shop by the mosques.
