Letter "F"

 Letter "F"

"F" Week's Prompts  Starts with "F."  A "F"avorite.  "F"antastic.

 1. Starts with "F":  Ford Aerospace at NASA Houston - I was a Ford Aerospace Engineer with Ford Motor Aerospace for 16 years.

Before NASA I was with Ford three years at the U.S. Airforce Satellite Tracking Station In New Hampshire   There our company put all the equipment, radars and computers and wiring, our job was to make it work and to teach the airmen to operate and maintain the equipment.

Working ourselves out a a job, I came to NASA Houston and worked with the Flight Control NASA group, I was still with Ford.

2. A "F"avorite:    My Ford Mustang Car.   Fantastic also, it was quick and fast. Before I bought I I tested it, had to shut it down at 140mph.  I still have it, a retirement present from me to myself.  It's  a 1998 Mustang GT 4.6 Convertible, I bought it in 2000 and retired in 2001. It now has 113K miles.

3. "F"antastic:  My uncle"s Ford tractor.  Fantastc, as a young teenager I drove it carrying in grain wagons filled from the combine.

...Jim, FABULOUS Fs this week. I can see by your FORD is a FAVORITE. My FIRST tractor was a FORD 8N! Take care and be well and cool.

Cool Fs! My uncle had a Ford tractor like this one. Brought back fun memories of watching him farm.

Jim What a FABULOUS post. Really interesting. Have a great week ahead

Hi Jim, fantastic post! I found an interesting article about the USAF Satellite Tracking Station. I was curious where it was in NH, having lived in New England most of my life and NH for over 25 years. That must have been a great job! Here in KY, there are two Ford assembly plants in Louisville. And, in Bowling Green, KY there is the Chevrolet corvette assembly plant, where you can get a tour and visit the Corvette Museum. That would be fun!
Have a wonderful week. Dawn

High Dawn. The tracking station is about 8 to 12 miles to the west. We lived on Lois Street when the house was just built. When you first get on Lois at the bottom of the hill our house is the first on the on the right, on the bend going up. A few years ago they took us through. I lived in New Hampshire with my first wife, we married exceedingly young, our three sons were born at the Army hospital . Susie was born in a civilian El Paso hospital.

I like going through factories and car museums. I have two licensed Antique Autos, a 1974 Mustang II Ghia and the car in this post, a 1998 Mustang GT 4.6 Convertible. It drives but I have to drive in the mornings for the not so hot if I want the top down. Can hardly wait for Fall to cool things off under the sun.
The reason I like factories is that I worked in the Elgin National Watch factory three years before I was drafted into the Army. There I was a setup man taking care of things for 15 to 20 ladies to keep things going on an upstairs line. Bragging, I was the youngest setup man Elgin's had for five floors. I was promoted to that job.
