Always sad he wasn't the real thing, only Oscar remained, rejoicing.
The genuine wood chairs floated away with the transition to Global Warming.

°Grandma of Succinctly Yours Week 72 gives these directions:
°Use the photo as inspiration for a story of 140 characters OR 140 words or less.

°Word of the Week, 'transition', and picture prompt were furnished by Grandma.
In Global Warming the Polar Ice Caps will all melt, the seas will rise many feet, and the waterfronts will all be flooded (Wikipedia link).  Some people do not believe this will happen.

Ah! I got it! :-) Thank you. But it is like being "taken away" at the end of the life. Those who will not "float" will remain. Ref. Noah. So the happiness of "Oscar" will not last. Nice. :-)
When I read "woodies," I pictured those faux-wood-sided station wagons that were popular in the 1950s. I grew up in southern California when the Beach Boys were big and "woodies" were in a song or two of theirs. But then I understood what you meant --wooden chairs...and I laughed. Very clever and funny SY, Jim!
I know what Pat means. I can remember those station wagons. Do they make them any more; station wagons, I mean? I like your scenario.
I think I got it - but to be honest 0 I am not 100% positive. sandie
And I thought mine was scary ;-)
Good take on the prompt, Jim.
He who laughs last ... Oscar sounds like a case of survival of the fittest.
Excellent play on words.

Have a terrific day. :)
It's kind of a bittersweet victory, though, isn't it?
Great take on the pic and WOTW Jim!
